该话题写作常出现在一些说明性的应用文中，如应聘信、寻找趣味相投的交友信、或者写信给外国朋友分享自己的兴趣爱好等。

四、习作修改

作者主要讲述了阅读是自己最喜欢的爱好以及阅读的好处。

1. so →because 根据句子的逻辑关系，此处表示原因。

2. 在as well 后加as 因as well as 固定搭配，表示“也；又，和”。

3. 去掉of 因此处是指从阅读中获得很多，介词of 是多余的。

4. is→are 此处主语是a variety of books，要用are。

5. especial→especially 此处做状语，应该用副词形式。

6. wrote→witten 此处表示“被写”，应该用过去分词做后置定语。

7. helped→help 与and 后面的broaden 时态应该一致，通过全文可知，应该用一般现在时。

8. for→with 因provide ... sb. with sth.属于固定搭配。

9. funs →fun 因fun是不可数名词。
