一、设计理念
本节课是一个完整的阅读板块,采用读前、读中、读后的设计思路。在阅读的过程中渗透对学生阅读策略的指导;读后用思维导图的形式力求使学生更好地运用及理解教材,培养他们的总结和分析能力。
二、教学目标
1.知识目标:学生通过阅读了解卡通片在美国文化中的地位,特别是米老鼠的诞生和成名过程,以及人们喜欢他的原因。并且能通过合作学习在阅读过程和活动环节中进行语言和观点输出。
2.技能目标: 通过阅读文章,正确掌握几种阅读策略的使用方法,并能在上下文语境中体会语言表达的真实含义。通过思维导图复述课文,储备语言为下一步的写作埋下伏笔,打好基础。以便能够运用正确的语言写好影评。
3.情感态度: 通过阅读Mickey的诞生、成名的过程和受欢迎的原因,鼓励学生像Mickey一样,在面对困难时不言放弃,尽自己最大努力去战胜困难和危险。
4.文化意识:通过了解米老鼠在美国文化中的象征意义,挖掘电视节目背后蕴含的文化意义,再通过对比不同国家的文化,形成一定的跨文化意识。
三、教学重、难点
1.教学重点:单词、短语的学习。在阅读过程和活动环节中进行语言和观点输出。
2.教学难点:掌握几种阅读策略的使用方法,并能在上下文语境中体会语言表达的真实含义。
3.教具:多媒体设备。
四、教学过程
Step I. Warming-up & Leading-in
The teacher show four cartoon pictures on PPT and ask the students some questions about them.
通过询问学生简单的问题,导入新课。
Q1: There are four pictures, do you know what kind of TV shows they are?
Q2: Do you like to watch cartoons?
Q3: Whats your favorite cartoon?
Q4: Why do you like it?
T: Watching cartoons is a relaxing time for everyone.
Today, lets talk about cartoons, we will go on learning Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show? Section B (2a-2e).
T: Before the new lesson, lets play a guessing game. He is black. He has a round head with two large round ears. He is very famous. He is the main character of Disney. Who is he?
S: Mickey. (Teacher introduce Walt Disney.)
【設计意图】由句子描述猜测人物的游戏,激起了学生继续学习的欲望,同时在游戏中穿插下面阅读文章中会学到的关于米奇的一些基本信息,为学生提供了学习文章的背景知识,让他们在后面的阅读中有成就感,对理解文章思想有很大帮助。
Step II. Pre-reading
1. New words
Learn new words by reading and teaching.
2. Listen to the tape, and get the main idea.

【设计意图】通过听课文,总体感知文章,找出主题,为后面的阅读做铺垫。
Step III. While-reading
1. Skimming
T:We have known the main idea of the article, then skim for the main idea of each paragraph. Please finish Task 1.
Task1. Skim for general information.
Para 1 A. Its about the history of Mickey Mouse.
Para 2 B. Its about the achievement (成就) of Mickey.
Para 3 C. Its about the reason why Mickey is so popular.
Answers: para 1 is A, para 2 is C, para 3 is B.
2. Scanning
T: Read 2b quickly and finish the time line.
Explanation: come out, in the 1930s.
Explain Hollywood Walk of Fame on PPT.
T: Hollywood Walk of Fame is a street with a lot of stars. Each star represents a great achievement or success of a film. Mickey is the first cartoon character to have a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.
【设计意图】阅读教学要从整体入手。整体感知文章主题是阅读教学的首要任务.通过让学生在文章中寻找所需关键信息(时间信息),并结合略读策略,使其能够在阅读中把握信息呈现的时间线索,使文章读起来更显条理,展示好莱坞星光大道的图片也能让学生更容易理解其意思。
3. Careful-reading
T: Read carefully and answer the questions.

【设计意图】使学生养成明确问题后带着问题读文章的好习惯,提高阅读效率。
Task 4 Group work.
T: Read the passage again. This time you should discuss the questions in your groups. Then I will ask some students show their views.
1. What is Mickey Mouse a symbol of? What cartoon character is a symbol of Chinese culture?
2. Do you think Walt Disney is a smart man? Why or why not? Do you want to be like him?
3. Why did people want to be like Mickey? Do you want to be like Mickey? Why or why not?
4. Can you think of another cartoon character that is as famous as Mickey? Why is the character popular?
【设计意图】这四个问题都是开放型问题,不同的學生可能会有不同的观点和看法,活动设计采用小组合作的模式,可以提高其学习参与度,同时也可以集思广益。让学生发表个人观点不仅是小组成果的展示,同时也是对学生表达的锻炼。
Step IV. Post-reading
