The AW Interview with Andrew Zago
The principal and owner of Zago Architecture, Andrew Zago has been engaged in conversations about architecture, urbanism, and education for over twenty-five years. In the AW Interview with editor Mary Ann O’Donnell, Zago charts the relationship between art and architecture, or drawings and construction. The dialogue also provides insight into Zago’s quest to discover and open up new aesthetic territory in the spaces of overlap and distances between these two practices. The purpose of this exploration is to expand our understanding of the possibilities of architecture as a discipline, as an expression of ethics, and as a political practice. The moral of the story is that as a society, if we want to reimagine and reshape the world, we need to support artists and individuals who are doing the creative work that nourishes the urban ecosystem.
