Dr.Fujun Niu,graduated from the Xi'an Engineering University and got his PH.D degree in 1998,and now is a professor in civil engineering at the State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering,NorthwestⅠnsti‐tute of Eco‐environment and Resources,Chinese Academy of Sciences,with a focus on permafrost engineering,environment and geo‐hazards.He has been undertaking research woks on some major cold region projects,such as the Qinghai‐Tibet Railway and the Qinghai‐Tibet Highway in the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau,Haerbing‐Dalian High‐speed Railway in North‐east China.He has pub‐lished over 200 publications on permafrost and cold region engineering,and has gotten many awards from the government,the Geological Society and Geographic society of China.

Jiankun Liu(China)

Prof.Jiankun Liu,graduated from Moscow State University of Civil Engineering,Department of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.Now he works in School of Civil Engineering,Sun Yat‐sen University,China.He is the Fellow of Russian Academy of Transportation Sciences(2016‐);TRB Member AFP50 of Committee on Seasonal Climatic Effects on TransportationⅠnfrastructure(2016).He did many researches on Frost action in soil in Transportation and Railway Track Foundation Engineer‐ing.He had been awarded many prize:State Award for Research on Saline Soil(2013);Mao Yish‐eng Railway Science Award(2013);1st Award of China Highway Society(2010);3nd Award of China Railway Society(2008);First Prize of Science and Technology Jinan Railway Bureau(2008);2nd Award of China Highway Society(2006);1st Award Science and Technology Progress Award in Qinghai Province(2005);New Century Excellent Talents,Ministry of Education(2005);Seventh Zhan Tianyou Railway Science and Technology Youth Award(2005).
