Ⅰ.Greetings

Hello， girls and boys. Have you ever told stories about your family？

Did your father and mother do some fun things at home？

Ⅱ.Preview

Preview the old contents we learned last class and do a dictation.

Then  check  the answers.

Ⅲ.New words

Teach the students the pronunciation of the new words and phrases and give explanation to them.

Ski：travel over snow on skis

eg. They skied down the mountain.

Mountain： a land mass that projects well above its surroundings; higher than a hill

Show some pictures about holiday activities on the PPT for students and give explanation to some words and  phrases.

Ⅴ.Do some listening practice

1.Listen and match.

Individual activity. The teacher play the recorder. The students match the pictures with the descriptions.

Then the teacher gives the feedback.

This activity is designed to let students understand how to describe a holiday activity and let them know how to describe people， events， places and the feeling of participating in an activity.

Then let the students use these sentences on the screen to express their holiday activities.

2.Listen and tick.

This activity is designed to train the students listening and speaking abilities.

The teacher asks the students to brainstorm and discuss the following questions in an open？鄄minded manner. If necessary， the teacher writes the words related to the listening content on the blackboard to help the students familiarize themselves with the listening content.

Let the students listen to the recording， and tick the right answers. Then the teacher calls the roll and check.

Two questions：

How was your vacation？

Where did you go last vacation？

The teacher can write on the blackboard according to the students answers to the questions.

3.Listen and answer.

This activity is designed to train the students to grasp the details of the listening content according to the questions.

Class activity. First the students look at the questions and the teacher play the recording.

Pair work. The students discuss and exchange answers.

The teacher calls the roll and check the answers. If necessary， the teacher can play the recorder again.

Questions：

What was the weather like in that place？

How was their vacation？

Answers：

It was very hot.

It was great.

4.Listen and match.

This activity is designed to train the students to grasp the details of the listening content and develop the students ability of understanding and expression to make a good foundation of speaking.

The teacher plays the recording again and the students match the people with the activities.

The teacher checks the answers.

Ⅵ.Do some speaking practice

The teacher plays the recording and the students listen to it and underline the sentences.

The students read while listening. The teacher asks the students pay attention to the sentences about holiday activities.

The teacher demonstrates with a student.

Then the teacher asks two students to role play.

Let the students read the conversation by heart.

Make a short summary of what weve learned today.
