本项目受该伦敦街区作为社区商业及娱乐设施聚集场所的悠久历史启发，旨在打造一个充满活力的综合区域，并展现建筑风格，带动公共区域改造及重新定位遗产资产。

KPF作为总体规划及建筑设计单位，在考文特花园以及花苑和马车大厅一系列建筑改造工程中做出巨大贡献。设计团队编制的总体规划方案通过将小型空间融入城市空间，增强场所营造感。从规划角度而言，多层设计手法有助于精心打造并增强相互交织的城市肌理；而从材质角度而言，历史结构保护及翻新是本项目的一个主要部分。

位于花卉街上的住宅楼外立面采用两种砖砌类型。其中一种类型参照相邻建筑，而另外一种类型特意与此形成对比。在采用浅色砖砌结构的转角，特色开间区域设置竖向窗框，突出竖向布置的仓库隔条箱感官效果。粉末喷涂钢结构窗户与该主题保持一致，但在规模及比例上呈现独特现代化风格。附近花卉街11-12号定制釉陶面砖外立面设计灵感源自种花荚肌理与外形，参照建筑先前作为种子仓库的功能。针对马车大厅，设计团队与细木工专家合作设计硬木店面以与恢复的建筑原始铸铁框架相得益彰。

This London neighborhood’s history as a community-gathering place for commerce and entertainment inspired its objective to become a vibrant, mixed-use district as well as its palette of architectural styles, each of which stimulated public realm improvements and the repositioning of heritage assets.

As both master planner and architect, KPF contributed to the regeneration of Covent Garden and a collection of buildings at Floral Court and Carriage Hall. The team proposed a master plan that intensified placemaking through the assemblage of small-scale spaces into urban rooms. From a planning perspective, this multilayered approach promotes the careful craft of weaving an enhanced city fabric. From a material perspective, a major component of this agenda was the conservation and refurbishment of historic structures.

On Floral Court, the residential building facades utilize two brick types: one that references adjacent buildings and one that deliberately contrasts them. On the corner with the lighter bricks, feature bays with vertical follies elicit the look and feel of stacked warehouse crates. Their steel, powder coated windows remain consistent with this theme but are distinctly modern in scale and proportion. Nearby,the bespoke faience tile facade at 11-12 Floral Street draws inspiration from the texture and form of a seed pod – a reference to the building’s prior use as a seed warehouse. At Carriage Hall, the team worked with joinery specialists to design hardwood timber storefronts that complement the restoration of the building’s original, cast iron frame.
