On the Effective Development of Classroom Management in College English Grading Teaching

【Abstract】In the grading teaching process, classroom management is a difficult problem for teachers. This article has carried on the exploration and analysis to the effective classroom management, which has the guiding significance and the practical value.

The latest “Requirements for College English Teaching” have put forward new requirements for College English Teaching in China. It is a clear requirement to formulate a scientific, systematic and distinctive syllabus, according to the actual situation of the University, to guide the College English Teaching. Therefore, the study of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and graded teaching has become an important guarantee for changing the present situation of College English teaching and improving the teaching level.

1.The Concept & Present Situation of College English Graded Teaching

Graded teaching is actually differential teaching. Divide students into different groups, according to the difference of students?蒺 academic level, basic ability and etc. Every group can be regarded as a temporary class. Courses and contents, based on the specific circumstances of students in the class, are separately selected and arranged. And also, different teaching ways and methods are applied.

Graded teaching can make the teaching content and process adapt to the students?蒺 own situation to the greatest extent and improve the teaching effect. However, because it breaks the student management mechanism of natural class as a unit, the difficulty of classroom management become more difficult. Therefore, classroom management in graded teaching has become a hot topic of concern in the English education circle and the focus of English teachers in recent years.

2.Effective Development of Classroom Management in College English Grading Teaching

2.1Divide Students into different learning group, and take groups as units to conduct classroom management.

Students divided by scientific tests, although their basic English level is similar, but belong to different classes of different majors. Therefore, the temporary teaching class lacks cohesion, or the sense of unity action. In order to solve this problem, teachers can divide students into different learning groups as temporary management units. The team leader is selected to undertake the task of class management in this group. The team leaders can be greatly helpful in controlling the classroom order. In this way, the task of classroom management can be reasonably dispersed to make up for the teachers?蒺 lack of energy in classroom management and then improve the effect of classroom management.

2.2Mobilize the enthusiasm of the students and develop their self?鄄management ability.

Discover and attach importance to the interest of the students. Create conditions to arrange the teaching content that caters to students hobbies, and adopt the teaching methods suitable for students characteristics. In this way, teachers can attract the students attention and stimulate their initiative of learning. When students attitude towards English learning convert from “hating” to “enjoying”, their self?鄄management ability will be greatly improved. Then, the difficulty of classroom management is reduced naturally.

2.3Reform teaching methods and enrich teaching content.

Reduce plain lectures, and introduce a variety of teaching equipment, such as multimedia. It is also possible to organize classroom teaching in the form of debate or competition, enabling students to participate the teaching and learning activities, so that the classroom is no longer boring.

2.4Improve the comprehensive quality of Teachers.

Graded teaching has put forward more stringent requirements for English teachers. They need to expand their knowledge, learn to control their emotions, and improve their ability of classroom management and control. Of course, a solid foundation of professional knowledge is essential. It is necessary for them to continue to improve their comprehensive quality and ability.

Graded teaching is an inevitable trend in the reform of College English teaching. Colleges and universities need to improve the quality of teaching as a starting point, create conditions to ensure the implementation of graded teaching. English teachers should comply with the needs of graded teaching, innovating teaching methods and improving the ability of classroom management in order to achieve the ideal teaching effect.
