教学目标:学生能在大量朗读U字母开音节单词的基础上感知、记忆和运用U字母在开音节中的自然拼读规则拼读单词,并能在阅读中巩固所学。
选取内容:以修订版PEP四年级上册第四单元为蓝本,纳入了小学英语课标规定的U字母开音节单词,同时涉及了部分非课标类单词。
设计依据及建议:本设计依据短课时、高频率、多接触之英语教学原则而做短课时设计。设计时注重了对所学知识的复习,由单词及句子,由句子及故事,呈梯度设计。U字母开音节分在六个短课时中完成,每个短课时设计建议用时三到五分钟。
教学设计:
短课时教学设计一
1.Review the pronunciation ofthevowelsthattheyhave learned before.
T: Hi, children. Let’s review somewords.Hereare some words.Can you read them?
T:Good.Let’s read more words without pictures:Sit-site,kit-kite,bit-bite,rid-ride;hophope,not-note,rod-rode,tontone.
T:Pretty good.Can you find the difference between“a and a-e”, “ i and i-e”,or“o and o-e”?
2.Boys and girls,before this classwehavelearned“cup”“us”.In these two words“u”is/ʌ/.Can you say some words with “u/ʌ/”?Then show them some words on PPT,ask them to read.
3.We know “us”,but if I add “e”behind “us”,that is“use”.The same with these words.so look carefully.The words are changing.According to what you have learned,can you read the new words?Please have a try.Students try to read,then ask them to think the difference between the words,then follow and imitate.
T:Who can say sth about the difference?(先让学生说,教师最后总结)
4.Now let’s have a chant.Try to remember “u-e-Uu”.Show the picture on PPT.First chant with me.Then ask each group to say it.

1.First show the words they have learned,ask them to read.
2.Here are 4 groups of words.Now listen and point out which one you hear.

3.Now read the words with“u-e-Uu”,I will write them on the board:cute,mule,use,tube.We have learned them,right?Let’s read again.So it’s easier for you to read the new story.Ask them to read in groups,and then ask some groups to show their reading.
4.This time show me your hands.When you say the story,clap your hands to know the rhyme.
5.Now let’s meetmore words with “u-e-Uu”.Please read it without spelling.Then follow the tape and read again,try to remember them.And next class we will have another story written with them.

1.Firstshow studentsthe pictures of new words of“flute,tube,tune,huge,duke”.Ask them to read again.Then show the pictures,ask them to write down the words.
2.T:You know the mule,the cute mule?The mule can use tube.The mule can also play many instruments.Here is a story about it.Read the story and answer:What instruments can the mule play? Now read quickly,and find out all the words with “u-e-Uu”.After reading,Ss read out the words.I board them:mule,tune,flute,duke,lute,blue,rude.
Have you found something different?Yes,blue is not/blju:/,it is/blu:/and the same with rude/ru:d/.So not all“u-e”is“ju:”.Only practice can make perfect.So let’s read the words again.
3. Now read the story again,with the help ofthe pictures, grasp the main meaning of the story.And try to tell:What’s the meaning of“tune a flute”and“tuba”.(此故事选自绘本“Mule Music”)
4.After reading,ask Ss to answer the questions. Then follow the teacher,listen,follow and practice in groups.If you can,act it out.

1.First show them the story about the “Mule Music”,and ask some groups to read or act.
2.T:Last class we learned a word “huge”.Look at the man, he is huge.And look at this stone, what’s it like?Right.It is huge.What about this mule?Good.The mule is huge,too.
3.Here is a story about a huge mule.First read it quickly and with the help of the pictures, grasp the main meanings ofthe story.Then answer:What’s the story about?When they can answer the question, ask them to read again.But this time only speak out the words with “u-e-Uu”.(用PPT呈现故事,伴随学生读出含有“u-e-Uu”的单词,这些单词被放大呈现,以引发学生注意,并对照自己朗读是否有所忽略)
4.In this story,there are lots of words with “u”.Look:fruit,cruise,bruise,juice.In these four words,“u”is as in“blue”. But can you find something the same among the four words? Yes,that’s“ui”.Sowhenwelearn something,please think it over then you can get more.
5.Now listen and follow.Read aloud so that you can tell the story.

1.T:Wehavelearned a funny story about the huge mule.I’d like to ask one group to show.
2.I know you like the mule,right?In your opinion,what’s the mule like?The mule is...?What’s about the huge mule?The huge mule is...Who do you like better? The mule or the huge mule? Ask them to share theiropinions aboutthe two mules.T:For me,I like the mule. Do you want to know more aboutthe mule? Here comes the mule and his friend the mole.Look at them,what do you want to know?Ask them to guess.
3.T:Good guess.Please read the story and see if your guesses are right or not.After that,ask them to read again,while reading and think: Can the Mole and the Mule help the bird?
