Step 1.Warming up
Sing a song:“If you are happy”
If you are happy,stand up and say hello to the teachers.
If you are happy,clap your hands.
If you are happy,stamp your feet.
Oh,you did a very good job.I think you will be better.
设计意图:歌曲导入能激发学生的学习兴趣和热情,从而进入学习的最佳状态。利用歌曲展开TPR活动,为下面的形容词比较级复习埋下伏笔。
Step 2.Review the comparative forms
Look atthese! Let’senjoy some funny pictures.
(先出现图片,然后呈现单词,请学生为形容词找朋友)
The comparatives usually have four friends.
Usually their friend is-er.
If the words end with e,their friend is-r.
If we see this:Consonant+vowel+consonant,we usually double the consonant,then plus-er.
Ifthe words end with:consonant+y,we usually throw away y,put into I,then plus-er.
设计意图:通过请学生给形容词找朋友的方式复习形容词的原级及比较级,有趣而有效。
Step 3.Know thedifferencebetween the adjective prototype and comparatives

设计意图:学生在师生和生生对话的过程中自然地讨论各自的朋友,并运用形容词的原级,激活学生头脑中的语言知识储备。

设计意图:通过“____is better than me.”这个活动,让学生找找自己与朋友间的差距,从而给学生创造真实的语言运用情境。小诗“Better than me.”则从心理方面给学生以安慰,最后教师的总结升华“我们每个人都要相信自己”的主题。
