Nectar and Bee Stings
A bee, this wonderful small insect has won enough praise from humans.
When we see the blooming flowers which are like a piece of brocade, we will think of it. When we taste the bright-yellow and sweet-smelling honey, we will think of it. Sometimes, when we see the excellent labors that learn widely from others strong points and make outstanding achievements, we also cant help thinking of it.
In order to get one-kilogram honey, bees will fly arduously over a million flowers and make honey industriously. Highly enriched honey, no matter it is honey from buckwheat, linden blossom, acacia blossom, orange blossom, Chinese date, litchi, longan or other kind of plants, all of which have such a bright color, such strong sweetness and such a long period of preservation that it is a very wonderful thing. If there is no honey in the world, the world will look somewhat less enticing than it is. The tiny honey messenger, whose activity patterns make me think of the creation of labour, the art and philosophy.
Actually, bee stings and bee honey are worthy of the praise equally.
So how powerful is a bee sting?
Seeing alone, it can only swell a small pimple in the skin of human body. However, the strength of hundreds of bee stings is very horrendous. Anyone who has been once stung by bees knows their admirable spirit. During their attack of other animals, they struggle like a hero and face the death unflinchingly. Once I was stung by several bees. Although I felt very painful then, a sense of admiring feeling occurred in my mind when I saw the injured or dead bees which had fallen down the ground and struggled for their lives.
In recent years, Chinas beekeeping business has booming prosperously. I always see that some people from other provinces take truckloads of honey and live where bees can find nectar, like those grassland nomads who live near the water and the grass. Especially bee keepers from Zhejiang province, they track the nectar almost across south and north provinces in the country. Chatting with the bee keepers sometimes in railway stations or in certain countryside full of blooming flowers, I am often astonished by what I was told. There was a bee keeper from Zhejiang province telling me that he once saw in person that the power of a group of bees unexpectedly stung a horse to death since the horse had knocked over a hive.
Needless to say, a swarm of bees can also sting a person to death, which has ever happened both at home and abroad.endprint
