英汉“相通”之点滴拾趣

语言来源于人的社会生活，由于社会生活的差异，也就有了许多不同的语言。然而，人在社会生活实践中，总会有一些共同的体验，这就使语言也有“相通”之处。这里我把英汉两种语言在使用人体器官表达意思时存在的“相通”之处做一简单介绍，让大家共同欣赏语言“相通”的美趣。

先来看有关眼睛的：

an eye for an eye 以眼还眼

before/under ones very eyes 在某人眼前/眼皮下

close ones eyes to 拒绝注意

in the eyes of somebody 在某人眼里

再看有关鼻子的：

as plain as the nose on ones face 清楚明白的

lead sb by the nose 牵着某人的鼻子走

nose sth out 嗅出

nose into sth 打探

turn ones nose up at 嗤之以鼻

under ones very nose 就在某人面前

有关嘴的：

by word of mouth 口头的（非书写的）

out of the mouth of babies and sucklings （谚）黄口孺子也能说出至理名言

put words into sbs mouth 告诉某人说什么

take the words out of sbs mouth 抢说某人的话

have only a mouthful food 只有一口饭

swallow sth at a mouthful 一口吞下某物

有关耳朵的：

fall on deaf ears 未注意

feel ones ears burning 觉得耳朵在发烧（想象正被人谈论）

go in one ear and out the other 左耳进右耳出

（have） a word in sbs ear 私下说出一事

prick up ones ears 竖而静听

有关手的：

at hand 在手边

at sbs hands 出自某人之手

bind sb hand and foot 束缚手脚

give sb a hand 帮一把

in sbs hands 在某人手里（归……管）

change hands 易手；易主

have a hand （in sth） 插手某事

play into sbs hands（栽到某人手上了）

second—hand 二手的

有关脚的：

at the foot of the mountain 山脚下

set sb on his feet 使某人自立

under foot 脚下（指地上）

foot mark 脚注

follow in ones fathers footsteps 跟随父亲的脚步

最后看看有关“头”的

be head and shoulders above sb 比某人高一头大一膀（喻能力或智慧超过他人）

a good head for business 很有经商头脑

go to ones head （指酒）上头

lose ones head 失去理智

其实，这种语言“相通”的现象还有很多，只要你留心，你也一定会体会到其中的趣味。
