对乘务长杨露来说,通过执飞这次主题航班,不仅是一次锻炼,更从中为自己的职业生涯确立了一个标杆。
At 12:00 noon on December 7, 2020, the broadcast sounded in the cabin of flight OQ2317 of Chongqing Airlines: Let’s give a warm welcome to the Chongqing delegation who is now heading for Guangzhou, Yangcheng, to part in the "First National Skills Competition". For Yang Lu, the chief attendant, this themed flight serves not only as an opportunity for exercise, but also sets a benchmark for her career.
特殊的主题航班A Special Themed Flight
三天前接到执飞任务时,杨露有些紧张。这次主题航班的乘客,都是重庆市参加“第一届全国技能大赛”的各行各业精英。而杨露担任乘务长只有一年时间,从事空乘也不过五年,她担心自己经验不足,心里有种“在‘鲁班门前弄大斧’的忐忑”。
而杨露要做的,是在三天时间内为这些行业精英准备一个特殊主题航班。从重庆到广州,飞行时间仅90分钟左右。按照民航局的安全规范,飞机在起飞及降落阶段,乘客和乘务员有50分钟的时间必须坐在座椅上。此外,机组航务工作还要耗费30分钟左右。满打满算,留给机组和乘客互动的时间,最多不超过15分钟。要在这么短的时间内设计主题活动,给乘客留下深刻印象,难度很大。“我们设想了很多活动,比如请旅客在手写板上写下愿望等,但因为时间太短无法完成。”杨露说。
最后,杨露和乘务组决定从打造客舱环境入手,让旅客感受到浓郁的大赛主题氛围。
12月7日上午10:00,乘务组提前两小时布置。机舱里满是各式各样的祝福语,红色的主色调也点燃了参赛选手们的斗志。除了鲜花和点心,乘务组还准备了用火龙果等红色水果组成的果盘,取红红火火、旗开得胜的美好寓意。连蛋糕上都别出心裁地写着“天下风云出我辈,重庆精英竞争雄”的“定制”祝福。
乘务员还为乘客精心准备了大赛专用胸贴,以及特别定制的专用登机牌、明信片和纪念礼品。机组广播也特别提到,“向精益求精的技能工匠们致敬。”
15分钟的互动时间,则设置了互动抢答,设置的题目都是与大赛有关的问题,让参赛选手都能充分参与。
Yang Lu got a bit nervous when she was assigned the flight three days ago. The passengers on this flight were all elites from all walks of life in Chongqing who were headed for the "First National Skills Competition". Yang Lu was worried about her lack of experience -- it’s just her first year of being the chief attendant and fifth year as a flight attendant--and felt like she’s "showing off her proficiency with the axe before Lu Ban the Master Carpenter."
What Yang Lu needs to do is to prepare a special themed flight for these industry elites in the short span of three days. From Chongqing to Guangzhou, the flight takes only about 90 minutes. The safety regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) stipulated that passengers and flight attendants must sit in their seats for 50 minutes during the take-off and landing of the plane. In addition, the crew’s aviation maintenance work will take about 30 minutes. The time left for the flight crew to interact with passengers, therefore, at the very most, is no more than 15 minutes. It would be tricky to design a theme activity in such a short period of time to impress passengers. "We envisaged many activities, such as asking passengers to write down their wishes on the board, yet it’s not with the time commitment." said Yang Lu.
Yang Lu and the crew, after several brainstorming sessions, decided to start with the cabin, that is, decorating it to enable the passengers to immerse in an atmosphere of competition.
At 10: 00 a.m. on December 7, the crew started decoration two hours in advance. The cabin was hung with banners read blessing phrases, and the red color just fired up all the contestants. Aside from flowers and snacks, the crew also prepared fruit plates made of red fruits such as pitaya to send good messages. Even the cake was creatively written with the"customized" blessing of "The man of the hour is in our generation, and Chongqing elites are fighting for our glory".
The flight attendants also prepared special stickers, as well as special boarding passes, postcards and souvenirs for the passengers, all were customized for the competition. The flight broadcast also mentioned "paying tribute to the perfect-seeking craftsmen."
During the 15-minute interaction, a buzz-in round was set up, and all the questions were related to the competition, so that every contestant could fully engage in.
向參赛选手学习Learn from the Contestants
“成为自己所从事领域的精英很难,我想向他们学习,我也希望能成为空乘领域的精英。”在杨露看来,参赛代表团成员都是各自领域的翘楚,从迎客开始,她就开始仔细观察他们。
参加美发项目比赛的刘江华,就给杨露留下了极深的印象。首先是因为刘江华那头金发格外惹眼,而登机后的一个小插曲更让人见识了他的个性。
当时乘务员正准备帮他放行李,但刘江华希望把行李放在脚下。经过空乘人员一番解释,刘江华勉强同意将行李放到行李架上,但坚持把其中的工具箱取出来抱在怀里。工具箱里精美的理发工具,是刘江华此次出征的“武器”,他有些担心工具箱的安全。
出于安全考虑,杨露和刘江华再三协商,最终为工具箱单独找了个安全妥当的存放地点。
“刘江华在飞机上很腼腆,参与活动也不积极,他就像电视剧里的武林高手一样,随时把宝贝武器藏在身上。没想到,他最终凭着那盒工具和精湛的技艺,拿下了美发项目的金牌。”杨露说。
网络安全比赛项目的金牌得主张波,带给杨露的感受完全不同。网络安全比赛项目是团队赛,张波带着二十多人的团队参赛。
“张波就是大哥,从团队的座位到行李摆放,都安排得井井有条。”杨露回忆,抢答环节,张波简直就是本百科全书,“他不是单纯回答问题,还能引申出一大串知识。比如给我们普及南方航空和重庆航空的关系,重庆航空成立的时间,甚至还告诉我们南方航空引进第一家空客380机型的时间,以及为什么引进。”
“我希望能成为空乘行业的佼佼者,代表重庆航空参加全国性的技能大赛。”入职4年,杨露就晋升为乘务长。不过,她还有一个更大的梦想,那就是像这170多位参赛选手一样,在全国性的空乘技能大赛中斩获奖项。
"It’s hard to be the best at what you do. So I want to learn from them, hoping that I can be the best flight attendant someday." In Yang Lu’s eyes, the delegation members are all best practitioners in their respective fields. She began to observe them carefully at the moment they boarded the plane.
Liu Jianghua, who was going to take part in the hairdressing competition, left a deep impression on Yang Lu, primarily because of his especially eyecatching blond hair. And an episode after boarding showed his personality even more evidently.
When the flight attendant helped him with his luggage, he insisted on putting it under his seat. After the explanations from the flight attendants, he reluctantly agreed to put the luggage on the luggage rack, but insisted on taking out the toolbox and holding it in his arms. The exquisite haircut tools in the toolbox were his magic "weapons" for this competition. So, he was somewhat worried about the safety of the toolbox.
For safety reasons, Yang Lu negotiated repeatedly with Liu Jianghua, and finally found a safe and appropriate place for the toolbox.
"Liu Jianghua seemed very shy on the plane, and showed very little interest in the activities. He was like a martial arts expert in TV series who hides his precious weapons at any time. To our surprise, he finally won the gold medal in the hairdressing item with that toolbox and his exquisite skills." said Yang Lu.
The gold medal winner for the Internet security competition, Zhang Bo, was wholly the opposite of Liu Jianghua in Yang Lu’s eyes. The network security competition is a team competition, in which Zhang Bo took part leading a team of more than twenty members.
"Apparently, Zhang Bo was the big bro. From the seats of the team to the luggages, everything was arranged in perfect order." Yang Lu recalled that Zhang Bo was like an encyclopedia in the buzzin round, "He did not simply answer questions, but extended knowledge. For example, he introduced the relationship between Southern Airlines and Chongqing Airlines, the time when Chongqing Airlines was established, and even told us when Southern Airlines introduced the first Airbus 380 model and why. "
"I hope that I can become one of the top flight attendants one day and take part in national skills competitions representing Chongqing Airlines." Yang Lu was promoted to the chief attendant after 4 years of service. She also has a bigger dream, that is, winning an award in the national flight attendant skills competition, just like these 170-odd contestants.
