THE UGLY DUCKLING

Once upon a time there was a mother duck. The eggs that she had cared for were starting to hatch. One, two,three, four little ducklings crawled out of their eggs.

The mother duck was very happy... until she saw the last duckling come out of its egg. It was huge and gray instead of little and yellow.

从前有一只鸭妈妈，她精心呵护的蛋马上就要孵化了。一只、两只、三只，四只小鸭子破壳而出。鸭妈妈非常开心，直到她看到最后一只从蛋壳里出来的小鸭子。他长得又大又灰，不像其他的小鸭子又小又黄。

“Oh my goodness!” she said. It was the ugliest duckling she had ever seen!

How did this happen?! “Go away! Go away!” the mother duck cried. The ugly duckling was heartbroken, so he left to find a new family.

“哦,我的天！”她说。这真是鸭妈妈见过最丑的小鸭子。怎么会这样？！“走开！走开！”鸭妈妈哭着说。丑小鸭心碎了，他只得离开这里去寻找新家。

The ugly duckling wandered for a long time until he grew up and came to a lake. On the lake he saw two beautiful swans. He admired their lovely,long necks and snow white feathers.

丑小鸭四处游荡了很长时间，直到他长大了，来到一个湖边。在湖面上他看见有两只美丽的天鹅，他多么羡慕他们可爱的长脖子和洁白的羽毛啊。

“I hope I could be as beautiful as them,” he said and swam to them. Suddenly, he saw his reflection in the lake. He looked just like those swans. In fact,he was not an ugly duckling at all, he was really a swan. He had found his true home!

“我希望我能像他们一样美丽。”他说着便游向他们。突然，他看到了自己在湖里的倒影，长得和那些天鹅一模一样。事实上，他根本就不是一只丑陋的小鸭子，他真的是一只天鹅。他找到了自己真正的家！
