I Saw the Pyramids!—Kaka's Diary

We're in Cairo! Today, we are riding camels to visit the Pyramids. Cairo is so hot.

Coco says the camels carry water in their humps. I try to put my water bottle on my back like a camel's hump. Plop! It falls in the sand. I ask Dad for another bottle. He says he will hold onto all of the water. “Good idea!” Mom says.

我们在开罗！今天，我们骑着骆驼去参观金字塔。开罗太热了。可可说骆驼用它们的驼峰储水。我试着把水瓶放在背上，像驼峰那样。扑通！水瓶掉进了沙子里。我想跟爸爸再要一瓶水，爸爸说他会保管所有的水。“好主意！”妈妈说。

We make it to the Pyramids. They are yellow and covered with sand. I want to climb one.

“No.” Mom says.

“Can I go closer?”

Mom says, “That depends.” This means she will agree if I behave myself.

我们到了金字塔。它们是黄色的，被沙子覆盖。我想去爬金字塔。“不行。”妈妈说。

“那我能走近一点吗？”

妈妈说：“那得看情况。”这意味着如果我好好表现，她就会同意。

The Pyramids are huge! Coco says people built them. “Did they carry things on their backs like camels?” I ask. “Of course not!” Coco says. I turn to Mom. She says,“ We humans have brains. They used wisdom.”

金字塔真大啊！可可说人类建造了这些金字塔。“他们像骆驼一样把东西驮在背上吗？”我问。“当然不！”可可说。我又问妈妈。她说：“我们人类拥有大脑。他们用的是智慧。”

We humans have brains. They used wisdom.

We take pictures. The camel's smiling! I know he loves Cairo, too.

我们拍了照片。照片上的骆驼在微笑呢！我知道他也爱着开罗这座城市。
