“我好热”千万别说“I’m so hot”

随着夏天的到来，气温越来越高，天气越来越热。一提到“热”，hot这个词你一定不会感到陌生。值得同学们注意的是，“我好热”千万不能说成“I’m so hot”。因为hot用来形容人时，经常表示某人“性感；（身材）火辣；漂亮”。比如：“Look at that girl.She is hot.”意思是：“看那个女孩。她身材很火辣。”那么，形容天气炎热可以用哪些词呢？

1.hot

Hot作形容词，意思是“热的”。如：

It’s so hot today.

今天好热。

拓展：此处的so可以换成really，very，extremely，super，ridiculously等词加强语气。如：It’s super hot here.（这里太热了。）

2.It’s scorching./It’s a scorcher.

Scorch作动词，意思是“烤焦”“烧焦”。它可以用来形容天气很热，感觉整个人都快被烤熟了。如：

Oh jeez,it’s scorching outside.

天哪，外面晒死了。

3.burning

Burning作形容词，意思是“燃烧的”“烧着的”。如：

Oh,my god,itwas burning today.The temperature reached 40 degrees.

我的天哪，今天热爆了。温度有40度吧。

4.boiling

Boiling作形容词，意思是“沸腾的”。如：

It’s boiling hot in this room.I wish I could stay in the pool for the whole day.

这房间太热了，我真希望能在泳池里泡一天。

5.muggy

Muggy作形容词，意思是“闷热的”“湿热的”。如：

I can’t stand a muggy day.It’s terrible.

闷热的天气我真的很受不了。

6.steaming

Steaming作形容词，意思是“冒热气的”。形容天气时，表示“特别潮湿的”。如：

It was steaming hot this morning.

早上特别湿热。
