【Abstract】EAP teaching has gradually become the main development direction of college English teaching. And the effectiveness of EAP teaching has a very close relationship with English teachers. EAP teachers should not only make their own efforts to accommodate themselves to local situation but also win support from the colleges and universities for better development. This article is to explore further the teachers development of EAP aiming at providing apocalypse to EAP teachers, and then provides a sound basis for the development of EAP teaching in China.

Introduction: With the further development of globalization in economy, there have been great changes in social demands for talents. Academic English is the main direction of the development of college English teaching, and therefore the teachers need to improve themselves so as to be adapted to the new situation to meet the demand of EAP teaching. The following is the detailed analysis of related content.

1. The importance and the according content of EAP teaching

At the present stage, a lot of colleges and universities in our country belong to the joint operation of schools. However, in this case the students find themselves difficult to adapt to the teaching model transition, resulting in a larger obstacles of English teaching. In EAP teaching, we do need to present specialized vocabulary and terms, grammatical rules, and rhetorical skills to students. What we need more are strengthening students quality education and promoting their communicative competence. In the actual process of carrying out EAP teaching, English teachers must carry on accurate localization to keep the English teaching quality effectively.

2. The Teachers' Development of EAP

Various colleges and universities in China attach great importance to the development of EAP teaching; however, there are still many problems in establishment of EAP teaching system. Therefore, effective measures should be taken to improve the current situation.

2.1 Awareness and attitudes

The essence of EAP teaching is language teaching class and it is the sub-disciplines of the teaching system, which basically deals with linguistic knowledge and skills. EAP teachers should improve the quality of teachers themselves and complement their knowledge structure positively, so as to keep the English teaching quality effectively. The students has proved beyond all doubt that they probably master the disciplinary knowledge well than the teachers, and therefore, the latter should change their restrained attitudes to cherish students questions and interruptions, communicate with students actively, maximize the distance between the teachers and the students, and establish equal and harmonious teacher-student relationship so as to achieve the win-win goal.

2.2 Stimulate the academic teachers motivation of self-development

As we all know, the EAP teaching is still in constantly developing. However, at the present stage, what is still missing is the ripe teaching methods which can provide reference to the EAP teachers. Therefore, EAP teachers need to change their own teaching philosophy and teaching pattern. The teachers should strengthen the links between English teaching and specialized courses and improve the all round development of college students, not pursuing the teaching process blindly. In order to comprehensively stimulate the motivation of self-development, the teachers themselves have to love the EAP teaching.

2.3 The colleges and universities putting forward support to the teachers development

The colleges and universities should strongly support the teachers development for the reason that the EAP teachers development has a direct impact on the effectiveness of teaching. Specifically, the colleges and universities can encourage the academic teachers to participate in teacher-training courses and give a certain allowance for the teacher's training fee. Moreover, a variety of other actions, such as, organizing the teachers to take part in post-training,carrying out EAP teaching exchange activities and holding various forms of visiting and criticizing classes, can be taken to improve the EAP teaching effect.

Epilogue: The EAP teachers development has a direct impact on the effectiveness of teaching. Therefore the teachers should put more emphasis on self-consciousness, introspectiveness and self-renewal and make great efforts to search for their own disadvantages. Through the joint efforts of the colleges and the English teachers, the EAP teachers will definitely obtain good development ability or quality, and then guarantee the effectiveness of teaching, laying down a good foundation for the students overall and life-time development.
