完形填空浅析

《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》中明确提出“高中阶段要着重提高学生用英语获取信息和处理信息,分析问题和解决问题的能力”,这就要求学生要不断地提高相应的各项能力。同时,新课标还要求我们要注重学生的思想情感教育。而完形填空主要就考查了学生的综合语言分析与运用能力。下面,笔者就以英语周报上的一篇完形填空为例,简要分析一下完形填空的一些解题技巧。

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just finished a diffcult first day on the job.A flat tire made him 21_an hour of work,his electric saw quit,and now his pickup truck 22_to start. He sat in silence while I drove him home.

首先,快速浏览全文,掌握文章的大意,同时重点掌握文章中的who,where,when,what几大要素,为之后的解题创造良好的条件。以此篇文章为例,它讲述了“栽棵烦恼树,让它去承载自己的烦恼,而不要把坏情绪带给家人。”

其次,仔细阅读文章,根据故事情节的发展来选词。

1.从简单句就可以选出答案,这是设计最简单的一类题。如:

39.D.栽上棵烦恼树,回家时(如果有烦恼)利用(use)它(承载你的烦恼)。

40.A.烦恼变得不那么重,所以应该感激(grateful)。

2.通过前后对应的方法进行选择。在一篇完形填空当中,经常是就一句而言,很难选出正确答案,但如果你继续读下去,就会发现与此问题有关的信息的出现,这些信息往往会直接或间接地给我们提示,从而作出正确选择。如:

24.C.由后面的branches以及下一段中的my trouble tree提示可知。

31.D.下一段中的I remember hanging up the nignt before.为信息提示。

32.A.与前一句中的every night呼应,以及最后一段中的each morning也可以提示。

3.根据句子之间的关系。如递进、让步、转折、并列、条件、因果关系等。如:

35.C.由句意可知前后两句为转折关系。

在做题时还要注意时间的安排,一篇完形填空一般在10钟左右完成,否则就会造成阅读理解或作文来不及做。这就需要我们在平时的练习中,掌握技巧的同时要有计划、按步骤,由简到难地进行有针对性的专项训练。只要我们坚持不懈,相信我们的完形填空的解题能力一定会得到提高。
