THE STUDY APPLIED ON BA IN PATIENTS WITH NEURASTHENIA

In order to explore value applied of BA in patients with neurasthenia . We examined BA in 94 patients with neurasthenia .The results showed that BA was of important value in patients with neurasthenia.This result was reported as follows now.

Data and Method

1. Clinical data

These patients were 94 cases. In them, male was 40 cases , female was 54 cases . lagest age was 42 years old, smallest age was 18 years old .

2. Method

94 patients were examined by BA-Ⅲ equipment made in USA. According to 10/20 system of international standard ,21 recoding electrodes were installed .Resistance<10KΩ. Fpz was electrode contacting ground.Resistance<1KΩ.The magnifying rate of instrument was 20000. The filtrating wave of high frequence was 30 Hz and low frequence was 1Hz.Recording time was ten minutes . The EEG of 30 seconds without artifact were FFTed .Then BA was analyzed .

Results and Analysis

1.The positive rate of BA in patients with neuvasthenia

The positive rate of BA was 100% in patients with neurosthenia.

2.The change on BA in patients with neurasthenia.

(1)The change of BA was low power shadow in αband, when scale was 32, its power was 1.5 μV below, colour degree was 3 below . The spread of power losed normal condition and was irregular and asymmetrical.

(2)In βband shows high power shadow or sometimes in θ band shows high power shadow.

Discussion

Brain atlas that is brain electrical activity mapping(BEAM)or quantitative electroencephalogram(qEEG) or EEG imaging etc is an important imaging diagnostic technique on electrophysiology after CT and MRI . It can diagnose functional disease and help diagnose also organic diseases.Neurasthenia was a functional disease. When change of function of brain cell, BA can show abnormality.Therefore,BA can diagnose neurasthenia and is an important and objective diagnostic method at present.BA is of important value applied in patients with neurasthenia.The method is well worth popularized and studied further.
