Look at these people. Do their faces look like skulls（头骨）？ Don’t be scared（害怕的）. These people are celebrating the Day of the Dead（亡灵节）. It is a famous festival in Mexico（墨西哥）. The festival is to celebrate death and ghosts（幽灵）. It is usually on November 1 and 2.

On these days， people have a parade（游行）. They wear costumes and paint their faces. Most people also build altars（祭坛） at home. There are candles（蜡烛）， flowers， skulls and gifts around the altar.

墨西哥亡灵节类似中国的中元节，在那天，家人和朋友团聚在一起，为亡者祈福。唯一的也是最大的差异在于，我们是带着沉重的心情去祭奠，而墨西哥人是举办庆典来庆祝与死去亲人的重聚。在墨西哥人看来，亡魂会去往另一个世界，而在亡灵节的时候才会回来，看望生前的亲人。因此，在这一天，人们会隆重地庆祝，让已故的亲友一起分享他们的快乐。
