不知道大家會不会好奇其他国家的中学生生活是什么样的,这里是一封真实的家长信,写信的是加拿大多伦多一所学校一个七/八年级班主任。让我们且从这封信里管中窥豹一下吧。
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Greetings!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child's Grade 7 and 8 teacher. I look forward to working with you to give your child the best education possible. As you know, parents play an important role in the education of their children. Open communication between parents, the school and myself are vital to your child's success. You're welcome to contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year.
Arrival and Dismissal Times
Students should be on the school field by 8:45am. The doors will open to let students in at 8:50 to allow them to go to lockers and prepare for class. If late, the student must go to the office to receive a late slip.
School ends at 3:10pm. However, there might be times when the class is very engaged in completing the day's learning that we may end up dismissing after 3:10pm!Overall,if picking up your child at the end of the school day, anticipate a late dismissal once in a while. Students who are taking home younger siblings are to head to the parents' waiting area, right by the area the younger grades line up for school entry.
If reporting an absence, please call the school at 416 123 4567,or use the School Messenger app.
Lockers and School Supplies
Students will be provided a locker for their personal belongings. Have your child get a combination lock, such as Dudley or Masters locks (seen above). Avoid locks with keys as keys geteasily lost. Students will be assigned lockers later in the week.
The class will have school supplies available. However,it is good practice to have your child bring their own,as they will be moving to different classrooms throughout the school. Basic items such as pencils, pens, erasers,a small ruler, calculator, and highlighters with a case to carry them in are highly recommended. Again, this is good practice as supplies may not be available when entering a high school classroom!
Snack and Lunch
You will be given a form today to complete regarding your child eating lunch off of school property or within the school. Please read through and complete as soon as possible.
The snack program will start later this month,so your child can bring a healthy snack to eat in class (such as yogurt, crackers,or fruit).
REMEMBER!ALL SNACKS AND LUNCH PRODUCTS SHOULD BE A NUT FREE!
Homework
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the learning styles and habits of all students have been affected. Nevertheless, your child will regularly receive work to build on skills that were missed from years prior,as well as to pick up new concepts at their learning level. Work will look different for many students, but what is important is that your child practices concepts taught in school at home that's the meaning of homework! The class will have a variety of assignments, whether if be writing, creating digital posters,or making audio visual presentaiions. Regularly check that your child is keeping up with classwork, especially through the use of Google Classroom.
Cellular Phones and Persona I Electronics
This is more of a message for your child than for you as a parent, but I am hoping that you are on board with having your child have an excellent learning experience within a safe environment. As such, there are no cell phones allowed in the classroom. Students use of phones have been disruptive to learning,as well as disruptive for teaching!Your child will place their phone in their locker and have it only removed for lunch and school dismissal. If you want to contact your child, please call the school. We have personal computers and laptops for students to use. Your child can bring their own laptop for learning. We appreciate your understanding on this.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to connecting with you in the near future!
Mr. Daniel
