话题导向下的初中英语复习课教学模式探究

【摘要】知识零散、效率不高等问题常见于传统的初中英语复习课。运用话题导向复习模式,有利于发挥学生的主体作用位,增强学生在课堂活动中的参与度,提升其对初中英语知识的综合运用能力,提高初中英语复习成效。

在传统的初中英语复习课中,学生往往以被动听讲为主,学习主动性不高,学习效率低下。运用话题导向复习模式,便于学生分类记忆词汇、积累句型和训练话题写作能力,可以使知识体系完整、层级衔接顺畅,特别适用于英语中考复习阶段。教师需依据课标整合话题,在话题中融入相应的知识点,创设教学情境,激发学生对话题复习的热情,与学生展开词汇、句式结构和语法等多方面的交流,实现复习的高质高效。下面笔者将运用话题导向复习模式,展开一节以“Wildlife and Environment”为话题的复习课。

依据课标,仁爱版初中英语教材七年级上册Unit4 Topic 3和九年级上册Unit 2可整合为话题“Wildlife and Environment”。该话题主要包括以下子话题:野生动物、环境、野生动物困境与环境问题、解决野生动物困境和环境问题。备课中,笔者先梳理该话题中的重难点知识,再基于学情,整体设计复习的内容。课前,笔者引导学生回归教材中该话题下的相关课文,梳理话题单词、短语及句式结构等,并在下列横线上补充尽可能多的相关知识。

(1)有关野生动物的单词:elephant、 giraffe _______________________________________

(2)有关环境的单词:environment、air、water _____________________________________

(3)有关野生动物困境和环境问题的表达:air pollution、litter、cut down trees  _____________

(4)解决野生动物困境和环境问题的表达:make laws、sort rubbish、save trees_____________

课前,学生自主复习该话题相关知识点,初步尝试将同一话题下的词汇等语言表达串联起来,有助于提高话题导向下复习课教学实践的有效性。

Step I  Lead-in

First, ask students to name as many wild animals as possible. (请学生列举出尽可能多的野生动物)

Then ask students to look at pictures and fill in the blanks.(请学生看图完成下列句子)

We should live in harmony with wildlife, such as _____________

. But because of human, many wild animals are _____________.(答案:snakes/monkeys, in danger)

After that, tell students that they are going to write an initiative mainly by using what they review in today's lesson.     (告知学生话题写作任务:写一封倡议书)

设计意图:在导入环节,让学生通过列举野生动物,从而强化相关词汇。笔者借助图片创设教学情境,初步引导学生关注野生动物困境与环境问题,且告知学生需通过复习收集有关野生动物困境和环境问题以及相应解决措施的写作素材,从而完成话题写作任务——倡议书。

Step II  Presentation & Practice

Activity 1  Let's find problems.

Task 1:  Listen and fill in the blanks.

A giraffe says, “People have __________ down too many _____________, so I don't have enough leaves to eat.”

A whale says, “Human___________the____________ , so I don't live happily.”

Antelopes say, “We are being _____________ for the wool. Our fur is being used to make _____________.”

Task 2:   List the environmental problems.

Ask students to look at pictures and list environmental problems.(请学生看图并列举环境问题)

Task 3:  Read the passage and write down the causes of pollution.  (文章改編自仁爱版初中英语教材九年级上册 Unit 2 Topic 1 Section D课文)

(1)cause of water pollution:____________

(2)causes of soil pollution:_____________

(3)cause of noise pollution:____________

(4)cause of light pollution:_____________

设计意图:通过围绕本话题的听、说、读训练,引导各层次能力水平的学生增强英语知识,并了解产生动物困境和环境问题的原因,为后续的话题写作活动奠定基础。这样的话题导向复习模式既能落实学生的语言知识,又能通过听说读写任务发展学生的语言能力,培养学生的情感态度和学习策略。

Activity 2  Let's solve problems.

Task 1:  Watch a video and write down measures.

Ask students to watch a video and write down measures.   (请学生看视频并写下措施)

Check the answers by watching the video again and then ask students to use different sentence structures to rewrite the given sentences.(通过再次看视频核对答案,并请学生使用不同的句式改写所给句子)

(This is one of the given sentences.) We should reuse and save water because water is useful.

改写为:We ought to reuse and save water because water is useful.

It's necessary for us to reuse and save water because water is useful.

It's our duty to reuse and save water because water is useful.

Task 2:  Make sentences.

Ask students to look at pictures and given words, and then make sentences.(请学生看图写话)

设计意图:多种形式的教学活动有助于学生积累与巩固典型句子、功能句式与基本语法等,着重训练学生提炼写作素材。

Step III  Production

Give students 6 minutes to finish the article. Later, share and comment on students' articles.

Initiative

Dear friends,

I am writing this initiative to call on everyone to protect wildlife and the environment.

Many wild animals are in danger. For example, ______________________________________________________________________________________.

Besides, the environment is destroyed. For instance, _______________________________________________________________________________. We should take measures to protect them, or we'll be punished and lose our home. _______________________________________________________________________________

以下为一位学生分享的有关解决措施的写作片段:

First, we ought not to cut down too many trees because trees help keep the air clean. Second, it's our duty to reuse and save water because water is useful. Third, we should stop factories from pouring waste water into rivers. Last but not least, it's necessary for us to reuse paper bags and glass bottles.

设计意图:在学生整体感知和积累话题词汇、句型、语法和篇章结构等知识的基础上,指导学生进行话题写作。设计的课堂任务有序推进,难度逐渐提高,由词块到句式到篇章,最后通过话题写作训练学生的综合语言运用能力。

总之,开展话题导向下的初中英语复习课,教师应根据课标把握英语知识点的关联性,围绕话题恰当地进行整合,整体设计听力训练、看图写话、情景交际、阅读理解与短文写作等,将同一話题下的单词、短语及句式等有效融合。依托话题复习,引导学生完成语言知识梳理与语言技能训练、形成牢固的知识网络,从而取得良好的复习效果。
