Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the American social networking site Facebook(脸书), is known as “the second Gates”. On February 28, 2018,on the Hurun Global Rich List 2018 (2018胡润全球富豪榜) he ranked fourth with 500 billion yuan.
However, everyone knows Zuckerberg is a big cheapskate. He wears jeans, Tshirts and hoodies all the time, doesnt he? He wore those clothes for a meeting with some Wall Street investors, and even when he met President Barack Obama. OK, he upgraded a little for his meeting with the Prez(“Prez” is the first teenage president of the United States of America in comics), keeping the jeans but changing the Tshirts for a shirt and tie.
But what about his wedding? The ring he gave his wife, Priscilla Chan, had a diamond on each side: It was said to cost only $25,000. For someone like Zuckerberg(hes said to be worth at least $17 billion), Priscilla should have been given a bouldersized diamond. Dont forget he also served inexpensive Mexican food at the reception. And when he and Priscilla were honeymooning in Italy, they ate at McDonalds once, and didnt leave a tip when they dined at two more formal spots.
Maybe Priscilla didnt want a big ring. Maybe they both liked Mexican food and McDonalds. And at one of the Roman restaurants where he and his wife had supper without tipping (and maybe both), the tip was already included in the bill. So there.
However, the real fact was Zuckerberg gave away $100 million to start an educa
tion foundation to help longtroubled schools in Newark, New Jersey. And Zuckerberg had no connection to the city.
1.Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the American social networking site Facebook(脸书), is known as “the second Gates”.
the founder of the American social networking site Facebook是句子主语Mark Zuckerberg的同位语。 Mark Zuckerberg is known as“the second Gates”; be known as是固定词组,意为“被称为……”。
2.Priscilla should have been given a bouldersized diamond.
should have done sth.
3.However, the real fact was Zuckerberg gave away $100 million to start an edu
cation foundation...
“the real fact was...
