三、口诀巧记序数词

如何把基数词变为序数词

?

【解析】

①大多数基数词变为序数词时，通常在词尾直接加th，如：four→fourth,fourteen→fourteenth,twentyfour→twenty-fourth,hundred→ hundredth

②one,two,three的序数词属于特殊变化，分别是first,second,third。

③eight,nine这两个词变为序数词时，应分别去掉原词中的t和e，再加th。

④以ve结尾的基数词five和twelve。把它们变成序数词时，要把ve变为f后再加th，即fifth和twelfth。

⑤以ty结尾的基数词有twenty,thirty,forty,fifty,sixty,seventy,eighty和ninety。把它们变成序数词时，要把y变为ie后再加th，即twentieth,thirtieth,fortieth,fiftieth,sixtieth,seventieth,eightieth和ninetieth。
