用受拉的钢丝将瓦片串联在一起受压,形成一个尖型、透光的拱。在首尔设计节,我们建造了两个瓦拱作为茶室使用。
A pointed and louvered arch was constructed by connecting clay tiles together to resist compression with steel wires. Two tile arches were built at the Seoul Design Festival as teahouses.

这是一个由玻璃砖和配筋水泥砂浆灰缝共同受力的双曲面悬链线拱结构。玻璃砖的厚度决定了拱的厚度,即80mm。以前在北京已建过一个,尺寸略小。这个玻璃砖拱的功能是公园里的一个亭子。
This is a catenary arch of double curvature built with glass bricks and reinforced concrete mortar joints as the structural materials. The thickness of the glass bricks determined the thickness of the arch, which is 80mm. A slightly smaller version was previously built in Beijing. The program of this glass brick arch is a park pavilion.

在一个关于纤维材料的展览中,我们选择了普通纸张重量、但具有耐撕及抗拉优势的高分子聚合纸,以它为材料进行一次超轻拱搭建试验。我们通过折叠使纸张获得受力强度,再用截面为5mm×8mm、1m长的、极轻的泡桐木棍作为不连续的加强筋编织进纸张里,最终使两种看似无法独立搭建的轻质材料互补形成悬链线形的“折扇拱”结构体系。□
In an exhibition about fiber materials, we chose macromolecule composite paper, which is of normal paper's weight yet possesses the advantages of tear and tension resistance, as the material to conduct an ultra-lightweight arch construction experiment. We folded the paper to enhance its structural strength and wove super light Paulownia logs (about 5 mm ×8 mm in cross-section, 1 m long) as discontinuous reinforcing bars into the paper. Ultimately, the two light weight materials, neither of which is capable of bearing load on its own, to complement each other and form a catenary "paper-fan-shaped arch"structural system. □
