Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: You Can Do Anything But Give up Rakugo

Rakugo is a form of Japanese verbal entertainment. The two main characters are the sensitive Kikuhiko and the easy-going Sukeroku. Unlike Sukeroku's determination to reform, Kikuhiko wanted to protect traditional Rakugo. "l work on the Rakugo adapted①adapt英 [ə'dæpt] 美 [ə'dæpt] vt. I suggested he should adapt himself to his new conditions. to the new age. You take the responsibility to protect the traditional one." "You can do anything but give up Rakugo." However, the fate played a joke on them. The "reformer②reformer英 [rɪ'fɔːmə] 美 [rɪ'fɔrmɚ] n. At the least, Europeans advise, the US should wait until after the election, especially if a reformer is chosen president. Sukeroku died, leaving Kikuhiko alone with the classic Rakugo till the end of Shouwa. lt's very similar to "Farewell, My Concubine" for the main characters both end their lives with beloved traditional arts that can't be continued.
