提到美国流行摇滚乐队共和时代（OneRepublic），想必很多人都会想到那首发行于2007年、堪称神曲的“Apologize”。其实，除了这首使他们一夜爆红的代表作外，“Counting Stars”也获得了很多人的关注，赢得了很高的评价，取得了不俗的成绩。该单曲出自其第三张专辑《原始天性》（Native），发行不久后便迅速打入美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚等多个国家的单曲排行榜中，歌曲MV在YouTube上的点击量更是在今年1月突破了十亿。
