Vocational School Become More Popular
In times of current employment difficulty for Chinese college graduates, more vocational school graduates who master some skills are needed by the society. According to the statistics issued by China Association of Vocational and Technical Education, the employment rate of vocational school graduates reached 95% from 2007 to 2011.

中国应届大学毕业生就业难之际,社会对掌握技术的职校毕业生的需求却很大。2007年至2011年间,中国职校毕业生的就业率高达95%。中国人传统上更倾向于让子女上大学,而不是职业学校,现在人们的态度也在逐渐改变。

Environmental Conditions Worsened in Villages
Pollution in China's vast countryside worsened further in 2012 as a result of the encroachment of industry and mining on farmland and an expansion of animal husbandry, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China said. Pollution has emerged as one of the biggest challenges facing China and the government acknowledged that poor air and water quality has become a major cause of social unrest. Experts said China's farms are now an even bigger source of pollution than the cities.

China's best schools give preference to students who have resident status in the cities. This preferential treatment is the complaint among young Chinese. Under it, millions of Chinese migrant workers and their families aren't eligible for public benefits in the cities they move to, and their children have to return to hometowns to take gaokao.
