教学内容

外研版普通高中课程标准实验教科书第二册第三模块。

教材分析

此课课型为阅读理解课。学生对于18世纪海顿、莫扎特和贝多芬三位作曲家比较熟悉，对他们的作品和生平也有所了解。在学完“必修一”之后，学生的英语水平有所提高，有一定的英语基础，对于本课所涉及的知识点也比较容易接受的。

教学目标

1.知识与技能

掌握必要的短语、句型；通过阅读任务提高学生的阅读能力，引导学生正确理解文章的内容。

2.过程与方法

利用多媒体播放贝多芬的作品《命运》，以此导入新课，调动学生学习本课的积极性；利用阅读任务，提高学生的阅读能力，培养自主探究学习和合作学习的能力；通过举例、归纳等方法，让学生牢牢掌握本课的英语知识点。

3.情感态度与价值观

学习三位伟大作曲家的顽强拼搏精神，提高音乐鉴赏能力。

教学重点

1.掌握英语短语和句型。

2.培养英语阅读能力。

教学难点

1.强调句的用法。

2.时间状语从句的用法。

教学过程

StepⅠ Lead-in（导入）

⒈利用多媒体播放贝多芬的《命运交响曲》（Fate Symphony），让学生猜测作品的名称及作者。

2.在学生说出贝多芬之后，在大屏幕上显现三位伟大作曲家的照片：贝多芬（Beethoven）、莫扎特 (Mozart)和海顿（Haydn）。由此导入新课。

Step II Skimming（略读）

Read the passage quickly to get the main idea and choose the best title of the passage.(快速阅读课文获知大意并选出最佳标题)

A.Three Great Austrian Composers.

B.Three Great Composers of the Eighteenth century.

C.Three Great Pop Music Composers.

Step Ⅲ Scanning（寻读）

Read the text again and answer the questions.

1.How long did Haydn work in eastern Austria?

2.How many pieces of music did Mozart compose?

3.How old was he when Mozart played for the Empress of Austria?

4.How long were Mozart and Haydn friends?

5.Who taught Beethoven how to play the piano?

6.Did Beethoven stop composing when he became deaf?

Step Ⅳ Group work (团队合作)

把班级学生分成五组，让各组讨论完成下面两个问题：

1.What can you learn through the text?

2.Tell us a story about Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven.

Step VLanguage points(知识点)

利用大屏幕呈现以下知识点，增加课堂容量：

1.短语

change---into--- of all time from an early age as well as

be impressed with/by ---the rest of---go deaf

让学生根据课文内容猜出这些短语的意思，并让学生用其写一个英语句子。

2.He learned to play the harpsichord when he was four.

While he was still a teenager, Mozart was already a big star.

As he grew older, he began to go deaf.

让学生观察这三个从文章中摘下来的句子，并引导学生归纳时间状语从句的特点。

3.However, it was Haydn who encouraged Beethoven to move to Vienna.

让学生把句中”it was--- who”删掉，看出“Haydn encouraged Beethoven to move to Vienna.”这个句子非常完整，从而引出强调句“it was---- who/that---”。

Writean essay about a famous Chinese musician using the patterns learnt from the text.
