“找”不同：look for, find, find out和search

这四个词都有“找”的意思，不过它们在使用的时候是有区别的。我们一起仔细看看吧。

look for意为“寻找”，强调找的动作和过程，但还没有找到。如：

He is looking for his basketball.（这句话强调正在找篮球，但还没有找到。）

Lily is looking everywhere for her key.（这句话强调正在到处找钥匙，但还没有找到。）

find意为“找到、发现”，通常强调找的结果。如：

Tracy can’t find her toys.（这句话强调结果：没有找到玩具。）

I found the wallet under the bed.（这句话强调结果：找到了钱包。）

find out意为“找出、查明、弄清”，指通过观察、调查、询问等方式找出（原因等）或发现（秘密、真相、事实等）。如：

Let’s work in a team to find out the problem.

让我们合作找出问题的所在。

Please find out when the train leaves.

请弄清楚这趟火车什么时候发车。

search意为“搜寻、搜查、搜索”。常用短语

①search sb./sp.搜查某人或者搜寻某个地方。如：

They are searching the thief.他们正在搜查小偷（搜身）。

The police are searching the house.警察正在房子里搜寻。

②search sp. for sth.，表示“在某个地方搜寻某物”。如：

The firefighters are searching the buildings for survivors.消防队员正在建筑物里搜寻幸存者。
