过度资源开发造成的生态环境破坏给城市环境带来了城市品质低下、人居环境恶劣等问题。生态文明时代要求人们树立尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然的理念，因此城镇化发展需充分考虑自然条件和生态环境的承载能力。而对于已经造成生态破坏和环境污染的地区，应注重生态修复，逐步恢复其原本的面貌。
