Beautiful Hyacinths

This semester started and our classwelcomed new friends. Theyre calledhyacinths. They come in ocean， western，and five colors types. When they bloom，they have a lovely fragrance， like freshwater or sandalwood. Hyacinths are ournew friends.

Weve been watching the hyacinths that havent bloomedyet. I saw the white hyacinth bulb， its like an onion without itsskin. It has long white roots under the bulb， like Santas beard oran octopus with many arms. Its a water-loving plant. When youput its roots in water， it blooms in March and April. The roomfills with flowers and a strong fragrance. I hope our hyacinth willbloom soon！

We put the hyacinth bulb， like an onion， in a vase with water，not too full. After a few days， the roots grow longer. A week later，I saw a bit of green on top—it was sprouting！ I put thehyacinth under the sun，hoping it grows healthy. Everyday， I see it grow taller and itsleaves get harder. The roots growlonger too.

The hyacinth gets bigger. I saw a green budtightly together， looking strong. Im excited for the flowers！ Fromone bulb， a new plant grows， like many plants do. Hyacinths teachus to be confident in life， no matter what happens. They are notjust about a moment of glory.

Hyacinth may seem like a simple flower， but they are madeof many flowers together. Their unity and simplicity make themspecial. The smell of hyacinths is better than air fresheners. Itsfresh and natural. I love hyacinths. They bring life and happinessto me.
