As part of Chongqing Week in Singapore, the Chongqing-Singapore Tourism Promotion Conference was held concurrently. At the conference, Mr. Ran addressed, “Nothing, not even mountains and oceans, can separate people with shared goals and visions. As Chinas door is opening wider, an increasing number of residents in Chongqing are traveling to Singapore for sightseeing, studying, and work purposes. Chongqing also eagerly anticipates sharing the huge market and opportunities for tourism development with friends from Singapore.” A representative from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development promoted Chongqings tourism, while a representative from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport introduced the Chongqing-Singapore air route. Their presentations not only showcased Chongqings natural and cultural landscapes, such as the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Dazu Rock Carvings, the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Wulong Karst National Geology Park, the magnificent Yangtze River Three Gorges, and the 8D Magic City, but also demonstrated that the increasingly frequent flights between Chongqing and Singapore will better facilitate visits for tourists from both regions.

In addition, a signing ceremony was held, where Jiangbei District Peoples Government signed an investment agreement with KinderWorld International Group, and Commonwealth Travel Service Corporation Pte Ltd signed a cruise service procurement contract with Chongqing Grand Century Cruises Co., Ltd.

In addition, six artists from Chongqing Opera House presented a splendid cultural performance, including an erhu solo “Ants”, a traditional Chinese music trio “Horse Racing”, and a male-female vocal trio “Song for the Yangtze River”, allowing the Singaporean audience to experience the cultural charm of China. At the Chongqing Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, a dazzling display of intangible cultural heritage was exhibited. This included Liangping Woodblock New-year Prints, boxwood carving crafts, and Youzhou Miao embroidery, as well as intangible cultural heritage creative products, such as Dazu stone sculptures, wax-dyed products, and Hechuan gorge inkstone, allowing the citizens of Singapore to broaden their horizon on a rich and diverse cultural experience.
