Something About My Dog

When two dogs meet on the street， they often bark at each other. Why do they do this？

In 2015， I decided to adopt （收养） a dog from an animal center. After meeting with the host family to see if my family would meet the adoption rules， we finally took a beautiful 2?year?old girl home with us.

She was nice and smart！ However， one day on a walk， a neighbors （鄰居的） dog crossed the street toward us and attacked （攻击） her as she walked in front of me. After that， whenever she saw any other dog， she became angry. When I asked the previous （之前的） host family for help， they said that she once got attacked by a dog when they were at a park.

I found someone to help me—a woman with her own dog who would teach my dog not to be so scared. My dog and I met up with her as we planned. Then we went outside and started walking over to her car. Once we got there， she opened the car door and her dog jumped out. As we got closer， my dog started becoming upset.

I stopped and waited for her to calm down. The other dog just sat there calmly. After weeks of meeting up with the other dog， my dog started to calm down and the two finally became friends. It just took some time for her to overcome （克服） her fear and realize （意识到） that she would be all right.
