A Working Meeting between Chongqing Translation and Interpretation Center and College of Eastern Languages and Cultures of Sichuan International Studies University (SISU)
On May 7th, a delegation led by Luo Wenqing, Dean of the College of Eastern Languages and Cultures of SISU, and Liao Libin, Secretary of the CPC Branch of the College, paid a visit to the Interpretation and Translation Center of Chongqing FAO. In-depth exchanges on talents cultivation, collectively building up teaching forces, and cooperation between the university and local authority were conducted.
Li Luoman, Director of Chongqing Translation and Interpretation Center, introduced the development plan and prospect of the Center. She expressed that, based on the profound and tangible progress made in building the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China, the two sides witness great chances of cooperation and joint-exploration of talent training and cooperation between the school and local authority.
Luo Wenqing said the College of Eastern Languages and Cultures has opened majors in nine languages including Vietnamese, Burmese, Malay, and other ASEAN languages, which are exclusive in Chongqing with the advantages as “key languages”. Given the Belt and Road Initiative and the Overall Plan for the New Land-Sea Corridor in Western China, the College shoulders the responsibility of serving regional economic and social development, an effort bringing the College further opportunities and development.
The two sides find a solid cooperation foundation as their goals in building a talent pool, undertaking major translation projects, and promoting ASEAN languages development are aligning with each other. With that, relevant joint-work are expected to be carried out as soon as possible.
5月7日,四川外國语大学东方语言文化学院院长罗文青和党总支书记廖礼彬率队来访重庆市外事翻译中心,双方就人才培养、师资共建、校地合作等话题进行深入交流。
重庆市外事翻译中心主任李洛曼分享了单位的发展规划,她表示,在推进中西部国际交往中心建设走深走实的基础上,希望双方拓展合作空间,在人才培养、校地合作等方面携手探索新机遇。
罗文青表示,东方语言文化学院目前开设9个语种专业,其中越南语、缅甸语、马来语等东盟国家语种为重庆独家,具有“关键语种”优势,在“一带一路”建设和《西部陆海新通道总体规划》的大背景下,服务区域经济和社会发展是学院义不容辞的责任,也是学院进一步发展壮大的契机。
双方在共享专家资源、承接重大翻译项目、推进东盟语种发展、加强国际传播等方面目标一致,具有坚实的合作基础,希望能够尽快推进相关工作的开展。
