Ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon. The topic of my speech today is “A Great Teacher matters a lot”. There are three points to support my view.
First, I think a great teacher can influence the way we look at things. We know, how we face a problem mostly depends on how we look at things, but not how things are themselves. So, when we step into the society, having a correct attitude to things is fairly important. And when can we form the way we look at things? The answer is at school, especially primary and junior school. It might remind you of the “speeches” your teachers give at class. Youmight think it needless at this while, but when you look back you will have no regrets about spending time on listening to them. It is those lengthy talks that influence the way we look at things.
Next, a great teacher can unlock students' hidden potentials. Not all students can find a place in studying. Some maybe favor art, some have a great passion for physical training and some are creative and have a lot of thoughts… And a great teacher can dig out those potentials and make them into full use. Lang Ping, the famous volleyball coach, just did the same things. She found the possibilities of every athlete and finally made the Chinese Women's Volleyball Team a pride.
Last but not least, a great teacher can change a student's characteristic. Helen Keller, a great writer, was once an unreasonable and rude child because of a sudden accident in her childhood. It's her teacher, Anne Sullivan, who changes her personality with a sincere and inclusive attitude and brings her a new life.
In all, great teachers can really change our life. And it really needs hard work. Let's pay respect to our teachers and always look on the bright side of life.
That's all of my speech today. Thank you.
