At present, China has children’s wear industry clusters mainly distributed in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian and other places. Data show that from 2015 to 2019, the market size of China’s chil—dren’s wear industry has been growing year by year. In 2019, the market size of China’s children’s wear industry was about 239.1 billion yuan, an increase of 14.35 percent compared with 2018. In 2020, the market size of the industry decreased to 229.2 billion yuan.
For cities of different levels, second—tier and third—tier cities will be—come the competitive development market for China’s children’s clothing industry in the future. Children’s clothing consumption in second—and third—tier cities has increased year by year, becoming the main force of consumer groups.
According to data from Tianyancha, in the past ten years, the total number of children’s clothing—related companies has continued to rise, and there are currently over 460,000 children’s clothing—related companies in the country. Among them, in 2019, the number of registrations exceeded 83,000, a growth rate of 13 percent. In 2020, the number of registrations is nearly 71,000, with a growth rate of 10 percent. From the perspective of regional distribution, Guangdong Province has the largest number of chil—dren’s wear—related companies, exceeding 47,000.
It is worth mentioning that as of October 2020, there are more than 14,000 children’s wear companies in Zhili, with an annual output of 1.45 billion pieces (sets) of various children’s wear, and annual sales of more than 61 billion yuan, accounting for two—thirds of the Chinese children’s wear market. Zhili is worthy of the name of “China Children’s Clothing City”.
