Beating the Demon for Three Times

“孙悟空三打白骨精”是《西游记》中最经典的故事之一。它讲述了师徒四人在取经路上因为白骨精的狡诈而引发了信任危机，但最终被大家的团结与勇敢所化解。故事里，每个人物的特点都很鲜明：唐僧慈悲為怀，孙悟空勇敢机智，猪八戒好吃懒做，沙悟净敦厚老实，白骨精阴险狡诈。南京师范大学附属苏州石湖实验小学的同学们是如何理解这个故事，又是如何通过英语剧去表现这些人物的呢？我们一起去欣赏吧。

Act 1：

Its a nice day. Tang Sangzang， Sun Wukong， Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing were walking on the Bai Hu Mountain.

Tang： Its too hot. Lets find a place to rest and have lunch.

Sha： Master， there is a house. Lets go there and find some food.

Zhu： Great！ Hurry up！ Im so hungry.

Sun： No. Its too dangerous. I can feel some demons around.

Tang： What shall we do now？

Sun： You three stay in this magical circle. I will go and find some food.

Tang： OK！ Be careful.

The White-Bone Demon（白骨精）lived on this mountain. She was excited to know Tang Sangzang was coming. She planned to catch and eat him.

Demon： Hahaha！ Its my lucky day.I will catch Tang Sangzangand eat him. Then I will liveforever and ever.

Act 2：

The White-Bone Demon turned herself into a village girl. She carried some food. Zhu Bajie saw a pretty girl walking to them.

Zhu： Good afternoon. Where are you from？

Demon： Good afternoon. I live in a village nearby. What are you doing here？

Tang： We are waiting for my disciple（徒弟）. He is finding food for us.

Demon： I have some food. If you dont mind， you can have some.

Tang： Amitabha（阿弥陀佛）. You are so kind.

Tang Sanzang stood up. Sha Wujing stopped him.

Sha： Master， we shouldnt walk out of this magical circle.

Tang： But she is just a girl. She cannot be dangerous.

Tang Sanzang was ready to step out of the circle. Luckily， Sun Wukong flied back. He used his golden cudgel（金箍棒）to hit the demon. The demon ran away and left a dead body.

Zhu： Master！ Shes dead！

Tang： Whats wrong with you， Wukong？ You killed her！

Sun： She is a demon！

Tang： You are so cruel. I dont want to have a disciple like you. Go away.

Sha： Master， dont be angry.

Sun： Please forgive me， Master.

Tang： All right. Dont do it again.

Sun： Yes， Master.

Act 3：

This time， the White-Bone Demon turned into an old lady.

Demon： Hello. Have you seen my daughter？

Zhu： Oh， no， Master. She is that girls mother.

Demon： My daughter！ My daughter！ You killed my daughter！ Why？

Tang Sanzang wanted to step out of the circle and comfort（安慰）the lady. Sun Wukong stopped him.

Sun： No， Master！ Dont touch her！ She is a demon.

Tang： She is just an old lady.

Sun： No. She is a demon. She is cheating on you.

Demon： You killed my daughter. I will kill you！

Sun Wukong raised his cudgel and hit her head. The demon escaped again with a body left.

Zhu： Master， he killed the old lady！

Sun： She is a demon， Master.

Tang： You made the mistake again. This time I will punish you.

Tang Sanzang recited（吟诵）the Band-tightening Spell（紧箍咒） twenty times.

Sun： Master， stop it. Please... please... I will obey your order.

Sha： Master， please forgive him.

Tang： I forgive you this time. Dont do that anymore.

Sun： Yes， Master.

Act 4：

The White-Bone Demon didnt give up. She turned into to an old man and walked slowly to Tang Sanzang. Sun Wukong realized（發现）that he was the same demon.

Demon： Have you seen my wife and my daughter？

Tang： Well...

Demon： Whats up？ Oh no！ My daughter！ My wife！

Tang： Amitabha.

Demon： You killed them！

Zhu： No. We didnt do it. Its that monkey.

Tang： Amitabha. Im sorry. Wukong， come and apologize to the old man.

Sun： No， Master. He is the same demon.

Tang： Wukong， apologize right now.

Sun： Demon， you can cheat on others， but you cannot cheat on me！

Sun Wukong killed the demon with his golden cudgel. The demon was dead.

Act 5：

Tang Sanzang was very angry at Sun Wukongs behavior.

Tang： Wukong！ Why do you break your words？

Sun： Master， the demon turned herself to the girl， the old lady and the old man. She cheated on you.

Tang： Nonsense（胡说）！ Look at the bodies. They are real.

Zhu： Look， Master！

Suddenly， the old mans body turns into white bones.

Sha： Master， its really a demon！

Tang： Unbelievable！

Sha： Master， you are wrong...

Tang： Im sorry， Wukong. I should have listened to you.

Sun： Never mind， Master. Your safety is the most important.

The four continued their journey to the West.
