On the Twenty-Fifth WFLA English Festival this year, the eighth graders participated actively and focused on the theme “the Role China Plays on the International Stage”. This time, we discussed the identity and responsibility of China from different angles. Through the speakers' vivid and confident presentations, we learnt that China is an engine that drives the global economics and technology. From the excellent performers' videos and sharing, we witnessed the rise of this nation and the revival of our motherland. We, the WFLA students, together with the world, wowed at China's influence on various aspects: culture, innovation and livelihood. From the most advanced technology, such as 5G, to the effort to alleviate poverty, we were deeply impressed by our nation's strength and power.
The eighth graders then had a heated discussion about China's role. She is a helper: she helped African countries build high-speed railways; she lent a hand to other countries during the pandemic. She is also an explorer, a creator and a leader Our students shared their knowledge about the success of China and how we connect with this world. From the performances, I found that China is always willing to share its knowledge and practice to cooperate with the rest of the world. There is no doubt that China is a brave, reliable and helpful friend.
Through this English feast, we took a peep of our great motherland's domestic and overseas contributions. I believed everyone enjoyed the eighth graders' wonderful speeches and felt fortunate and proud to live in China. As the new generation, we must study ambitiously and never forget those who made efforts to create this prosperous era. We should try harder to become a teenager who has a Chinese heart and a world vision.
