Recently, WFLA celebrated its twenty-fifth English Festival. This is not only a demonstration of the students English skills, but also a chance for us to enjoy a feast for all our senses.
As ninth graders, this year our theme is“China's rise on the global stage". The students have showed their love for the country and their profound knowledge of China's development through their splendid performances.
The performances focused on different aspects of the “rise" of the country, such as food, fashion, technology, architecture, art, language and so on.All the performers were well-prepared and confident on stage. Some of them used the annual cultural exchange program in the school as an example of cultural blending which made me have a strong sense of identity. Others explained the development of food and made the performance more vivid with videos and role plays. Their stories truly let me feel the rise of our own country and feel proud for being a Chinese.
I believe that WFLA's annual English Festival has provided the students with a chance to develop our “Chinese Heart”, “World Vision” and “Modern Mind", either during the preparation of the performances or by enjoying others presentations. This year, the English Festival has aroused our patriotism and helped us learn much about our own country.
