After nearly five years of patiently waiting, fans of Selena Gomez will have new music to enjoy soon! The 27-year-old US pop star recently revealed (透露) that her new album, titled Rare, came out on Jan 10. There will be 13 songs on the album, including the hits Lose You to Love Me and Look at Her Now.
Gomez told The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon that the upcoming album will be pop-focused. “I think there s always going to be a sense of strong pop in my music, but I definitely explored more with electric guitar, a lot of more soulful tracks (深情的歌曲) underneath things,” she commented.
“It s the most honest music I ve ever made and I can t wait for you to hear my heart,” Gomez wrote online. Fans have already speculated (推测) that Lose You to Love Me is about Gomez s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Though this may be true, Selena has more serious issues to deal with than Bieber.
In 2015, the singer revealed that she was receiving chemotherapy (化疗) to treat her lupus (狼疮). She has been suffering from the disease for years. It affects patients organs (器官), including the kidneys (肾) and lungs. Patients also get red rashes (红疹) on their skin. It has been a rough battle. Luckily, Gomez s best friend, actress Francia Raisa, donated a kidney to Gomez to help her recover.
With Rare, Selena finally opens up and shares her thoughts and feelings with her fans around the world. “I m just relieved. It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album... So I just kept going, and I m relieved, ” she said on The Tonight Show.
