An analysis of Oral English Learning Methods

Abstract：With the entry of Chinas WTO and the gradual formation of the global economy，the role of English，especially spoken English，in international communication has become increasingly important.Therefore，it is necessary to strengthen oral training.Oral training is a difficult point in English teaching，but as long as you master the scientific training methods，you can still get more results with less effort.

Language as a tool for mutual communication and exchange，especially the most widely used English in the world will become more important than ever.Among them，the role of spoken English is particularly obvious. Therefore，learning English and rapidly improving the spoken English level are very necessary and imperative for us contemporary Chinese，especially young generations.

Many students are enthusiastic about improving spoken English，but they are upset and helpless because they do not know how to practice and improve.In this regard，I have carried out some explorations and conclusions based on my own practice，and talked about my views on how to train spoken English.I hope to help some students and friends who are interested in spoken English.

First，we must firmly grasp the basic knowledge of English and lay a solid foundation in language communication.Learning and using language is a systematic project.Among them，the basic knowledge is the hardware condition，which is the prerequisite and key to complete this project.Without it，it is like building engineering without building materials，making clothing without cloth，learning knowledge without books-like，--the cut can only be the moon in the water，the flower in the mirror.So，what is the basic knowledge of spoken English？ It mainly includes English pronunciation，intonation，vocabulary，phrases，sentence patterns，everyday expressions，grammar and cultural background.

Second，be brave to speak，full of self-confidence，cultivate the habit of often using basic knowledge of English，and improve the ability to express thoughts and feelings.

Language is a skill.Without a lot of practice，accurate and proficient English is impossible.Especially speaking as a communication-oriented spoken language，it needs more and more practice.At the beginning of speaking，people often stutter because they are afraid of saying wrong，and embarrassed and dare not speak.This is exactly the taboo of speaking.Therefore，to learn spoken English，you must "tear your face" and speak boldly.Find mistakes in non-stop practice and correct mistakes before progress.And be confident.During oral practice，mistakes are unavoidable，so dont blame yourself for yourselves. Believe in yourself，cultivate the habit of using the basics of English frequently，persist in repeated oral practice，practice makes perfect，and gradually improve your ability to express your thoughts and feelings.

Third，listen，speak，read，and write，go hand in hand，and never walk alone.

Speaking is one of the four basic skills of English. It is related to and promotes the other three skills. Never practice speaking for the sake of speaking.Listen to English tapes，English radio and English TV programs often，and imitate them one by one，to avoid falling into the whirlpool of "strange tunes".In addition，some sound recording materials（such as "American Short Story Collection"）can also make you feel happy while listening，and then have the urge to retell those humorous stories to classmates and friends，and share their happiness with them，So as to achieve the goal of promoting oral practice and improving oral ability.Read aloud the basic English sentence patterns and everyday expressions（such as greetings when you meet，farewell when you break up，restaurant meals，hotel accommodations，shopping malls，road inquiries，guest pick-ups，etc.），and you are right there.Once you encounter a similar situation in your life，you can become familiar with it and feel a sense of success. In this way，you will become more interested，more confident，practice diligently and easily，and improve your oral English.In addition，a lot of extensive reading will also help you to review the basic knowledge of English repeatedly，expand your horizons，and let you experience the colorful customs and interesting customs of Europe and the United States，so that you are practicing English In speaking，the expression is more fluent，the materials are more abundant，and the language is more authentic.

The point that is most easily overlooked by us is that，like listening and reading，writing can promote the improvement of spoken language skills.On the surface，writing seems to have nothing to do with spoken language，but it is not.When first practicing oral English，people are often flustered and dont know what to say or how to say.If the things to be said are organized in advance with the language knowledge you have learned，then you will be confident，calm，and speak correctly and smoothly.This is actually the preparatory process for oral practice.

The learning of spoken English is a gradual process，and it is impossible --- just in one go.As long as you are full of enthusiasm，full of confidence，adhere to the correct practice method，and persevere，the joy of success will nourish your thirsty heart.
