My Favourite Festival

It’s December now and the Winter Holiday is coming soon. I’m very excited for the Winter Holiday because my favourite festival will come soon after.

The Spring Festival is my favourite festival. It’s a traditional Chinese festival and I am going to do a lot of things this Spring Festival. A few days before the festival, I always go shopping with my family and prepare a lot of things for the festival. For example, I will help my mum clean the house. When it’s almost Spring Festival, I will learn the interesting “Dragon Dance” with many other children. At Spring Festival, we usually have a lot of delicious food like dumplings and peanuts at the family dinner. After the big family dinner, some people watch a special programme and some people play poker or Mahjong. The next day, we can put on our new clothes and go out to visit friends. We say “Happy New Year” to our relatives and friends and we get red envelopes from our grandparents and parents. I really look forward to the Spring Festival because I love it!
