一、教学目标

By the end of the class, students can:

1.grasp the usage of the words and expressions:content, astonish, fortunate, ordinary, entertain, overcome, convince, direct, up to now, badly off, pick out, cut off, star in.

2.practise the oral English by describing some interesting English humours.

3.improve the reading skills by skimming, scanning, intensive reading and extensive reading, etc.

4.build a powerful and hopeful life attitude.

二、教学重点

1.Improve the reading skills by skimming, scanning, intensive reading and extensive reading, etc.

2.Get the students to know about Charlie Chaplin.

三、教学难点

Help students build up an optimistic attitude towards life.

任务型阅读教学法:参与、体验、互动、交流、合作

五、教学过程

Step1 . Warming up

1.Warming up by enjoying two funny stories. Let students try to figure out why they are funny.

1)Customer: What's that fly doing in my soup?

Waiter: Swimming, I think.

2)C: Waiter, will the pancakes be long?

W: No, sir. Round.

2.Enjoy a video to experience the art of nonverbal humour and talk about the importance of humour.

3.Introduce Chaplin- a master of nonverbal humour.

Step2. Pre-reading

Look at the title and the pictures of this passage, and try to predict its content. Or ask like this: What will you talk about if you write an article about Charlie Chaplin?

Step3. Skimming

Skim the passage and complete the following chart.

Step4. Listening and comprehending

Listen to the passage and write down the main idea of each paragraph.

Step5. Reading and comprehending

Ss answer some questions about the passage.

Step6. Mind mapping

Look at the picture of THE LITTLE TRAMP. Can you describe him in English?

Step7. Post-reading

1.Discussion

(1)Does Chaplin deserve the very special Oscar? Why?

Why is Chaplin loved and remembered as a great actor?

(2)What can we learn from Charlie Chaplin and his classic character, the little tramp?

六:教學反思

结合教参的教学目标和英语学科课程标准所提出的英语教学核心素养,我对本节课做出如下反思。

一、对学情分析不足

我对于本节课最初的教学目标是让学生浅层次地体验英语幽默和无声幽默并学会分析语篇。但是事实证明我对于学生的学情分析不足。寻找细节信息、归纳主旨大意、描述人物外貌性格对于学生来说很轻松。不但不能激发学生的学习兴趣,更不能提高学生的语言能力。基于此,我认为自己这节课需要在语言能力方面进行更深层次的学习,比如as if 引导方式状语从句、动词-ing作宾语补足语的句式仿写。比如让学生写一篇完整的summary。比如不让学生提前记忆词汇,多增加一些词义猜测的训练等。

二.对教材和教参不熟悉,重难点不突出。

比如文章结构方面,本文的两条主线是时间顺序写卓别林的人生经历和人物突出特征(卓别林表演的独到之处)。后者应该是本节课的重点。

三、对语篇挖掘不够深入

核心素养中的文化意识是一个教学难点,也是我本节课遇到的最大障碍。我从小流浪汉的外貌和《淘金记》中的形象入手,但是还是没有把英式幽默的核心讲解透彻。在这方面我认为自己还是准备不充分。比如可以看看卓别林的纪录片《卓别林传》和他的一些经典电影,然后找出期中最精髓的东西。让学生更深的了解西方油墨文化的起源发展和影响。从而按照教参深入挖掘卓别林成功的个人、家庭、社会等方面的决定性因素,在学生头脑中塑造一个清新的勤奋、乐观、坚韧不拔的大师形象。

深深感觉教师应该善问善思,博学求真。
