Silicon Valley parents are increasingly crazy about keeping their children away from screens. Even a little screen time can be so deeply addictive, some parents believe, that its best if a child neither touches nor sees any of these shiny screens. These particular parents, after all, deeply understand the screensattraction.
But its very hard for a working adult in the 21st century to live at home without looking at a phone. And so, its easier to hire someone to do this. Enter the Silicon Valley nanny(保姆), who each day returns to the time before screens.
From Cupertino to San Francisco, a growing agreement has come out that screen time is bad for kids. It follows that these parents are now asking nannies to keep phones, tablets, computers and TVs off and hidden at all times. A fathers love is just as important to a childs development as a mothers, and sometimes more so, suggests a review of about 100 studies published between 1949 and 2001.
Researchers found that, overall, the love or rejection of mothers and fathers equally affects kidsbehavior, self-esteem, emotional(情绪的)stability, and mental health.“But in some cases, the withdrawal of a fathers love seems to play a bigger role in kidsproblem with personality,”says Ronald P. Rohner, director of the Center for the Study of Parental Acceptance and Rejection at the University of Connecticut. And for others, the presence of it may do more to increase childrens sense of well-being and improve their emotional and physical health.
More research is needed to explain these connections. The issue is not whos more important, but recognizing that dads are key in all the ways moms are.“We hope findings like these will encourage men to become more involved(参与)in their childrens care,”says Dr. Rohner,“Then the whole family benefits.”
There are two books in particular that stress the importance of a fathers involvement. In The Man Who Would Be Dad, Hogan Hilling tells personal stories of being the stay-at-home dad of three sons. He points out that mothers and fathers need to trust each other to care for their children in their own way.“Moms also need to encourage their husbands to participate in their childrens care, whether its dressing the baby or going to doctors appointments,”says Hilling.
In Dads and Daughters, Joe Kelly explains that a fathers relationship with his daughter is important because hes the first man shell get to know in life. In other words, hes the standard for what shell expect of a man and lifelong partner. Kelly also encourages fathers to listen to their girls and be physically active with them.“A father who plays with his daughter—kicking a ball around, taking walks together—is making a payment on an insurance policy that shell grow up to be confident and strong.”

“Plogging”,an eco-friendly Scandinavian trend that quickly grew in popularity abroad, is praised as the latest urban fitness boom in China under the label of“garbage running”. In brief, plogging is picking up garbage while taking on a run.
If you havent caught up, it is a form of exercise said to have originated(起源于)in Sweden in 2016, where the term was first coined from the Swedish phrase“plocka upp”, meaning to pick up, and jogging.
Reportedly started by a Swede named Erik Ahlstrom, who made garbage-picking part of his workout routine when surprised by the amount of garbage overtaking the streets after moving to Stockholm from a small town in Sweden, plogging sees participants pick up plastic garbage while jogging, and adds an environmentally driven element to the sports.
The cause of running while cleaning the environment has become a hit on social media, and numerous joggers in China are going green and going on about their exercise routines while wearing a pair of plastic gloves and carrying a garbage bag. The Swedish fitness trend has proven to be a win-win for everyone.
In Shanghai, a plogging group called Garbage Runners founded by Celina Eisenring from Switzerland, and Kate Sogor from Hungary, schedules running activities regularly to pick up garbage along her running route. The founders said they were prepared to have just the two of them when it started, but now the plogging group has close to 450 members.
The run is designed for anyone to take part. By adding regular squats(蹲)to pick up garbage and carrying weight, we can assume the health benefits are increased. Plogging burns about 288 calories per hour, 53 more calories per hour than average jogging, according to data from fitness apps, Beijing Youth Daily reports.

Our team finally found his house ...

50. B 结合下文when this terrified survivor saw our team ...
51. D 结合下文it was clear that water had nearly submerged ...

63. management
69. are 因There be句型的be遵循就近原则,所以此处用复数。
70. and因both ... and ...
4. strict后的 to改为with 固定短语be strict with sb和be strict to sth的区别,分别为“对某人严格”和“对某事严格”。
