杜大恺
Long scroll is a special type of the traditional Chinese painting, which stems from Wei and Jin dynasties and was out of fashion since the period of Republic of China. However, it becomes very popular in the 21st century, attracting a large number of painters to create long scrolls. The Magnificent China, an oil painting long scroll created by Mr. Wu Yuzhu is 1 meter in height and 69 meters in length, which is very unique and different from others due to its painting type and unimaginable hardship. The long scroll depicts the magnificent Yangtze River and landscapes alongside, including mountains, gorges, fields, villages and cities.
Born in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province in 1958, Wu Yuzhu is a national class-A artist, Dean of Anhui Branch of KMT Revolution Central Painting Academy, a member of Chinese Artists Association, research fellow of China Ink Painting Art Academy, visiting scholar of Tsinghua University, Deputy SecretaryGeneral of the Oil Painting Art Committee of Anhui Fine Arts Association.
His oil painting works have received the gold awards and bronze awards of national and provincial art exhibitions for several times, which are collected by institutions in the U.S., Russian, France, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, etc. His solo painting exhibitions have been held in China, Tanzania and Russia.

长卷为中国绘画所独有,始自魏晋,顾恺之《洛神赋》《女史箴图》《列女传》是也,唐周昉《捣练图》、张萱《簪花仕女图》,五代顾闳中《韩熙载夜宴图》是也,其以人物为题;山水长卷则有北宋王希孟《千里江山图》,其后元、明、清诸朝亦不乏擅为长卷者,人物、山水以外则旁及花卉、诗古等。长卷或因其长,铺陈布势尤见功力,为之者鲜少,不能与中堂、条幅、扇面等之浩瀚埒比。或因其难,为之者均为高手,故流传至今的长卷每每经典,常使人望之称绝,赞叹不已。而民国以来画长卷者几近绝迹,惟蒋兆和之《流民图》称颂于世。
近30年重拾长卷者有吴冠中、袁运甫,所作《长江万里图》,煌煌巨制,不逊于古之所为,惟其初为壁画之稿。今日躭于长卷者首推张仃,十数年乐此不疲,笔精墨妙,蔚成大观。
进入21世纪,长卷竟成风气,众人趋之,屡屡以长江、黄河等为题,或一人,或数人,或数十人合作。长卷超长,或百米或数百米,其夺人之势为古人所不及。长卷长矣,因其合作,一人画一段,说难亦易,竞月既成,且因其为中国画,笔墨氤氲,浑浑洒洒,即成其势。
吴玉柱所作《美丽中国》有不同处,一是油画,二是独自为之,其艰难超乎想象,叹为观止。《美丽中国》高1米,长69米,以4米为一段,共17段,从酝酿到完成,耗时两年半。两年半里,吴玉柱除睡觉、吃饭,其余时间均俯身于此,无一时懈怠,身心、意志均经历了前所未有的砺练,坚毅如此,近乎超人。
长卷所绘以长江为线,由西向东,蜿蜒曲折,浩浩荡荡,从雪域高原起始,沿江两岸的山峦、峡谷、田疇、村落、城市,林林总总都依序揽入画图,虽是油画,却有水墨画的意韵。统览之,步移景异,风光无限。
中国伟在其大,南北东西,风光殊异,有画不尽的风情地貌,艺术家尽可依其舒展才华,抒发情怀。中华儿女,沛然于此,行千里、行万里,无时不心潮涌动。美丽中国,美哉、壮哉,观玉柱之长卷,信焉。
