1. Introduction and discussion
As an international language, English plays a very important role in modern society. However, in the current school English teaching, the importance of spoken English is generally insufficient. How to improve the spoken English of students has always become a problem which remained to be solved urgently.
For this reason, many students turn to the training institute for help. The most common methods to improve the spoken English in training institute are exaggerated pronunciation training, reading aloud training and spoken English communication training.
Firstly, the exaggerated pronunciation is aimed to grasp the pronunciation skills, in the train process, the pronunciation of signal word is exaggerate, it can better clarify the process of pronunciation, which not only promotes word memory but also help students to give top priority. In this way, students can clearly know the correct pronunciation skills and rules.
Reading aloud training is another effective training method set up in training institutions. In the process of loud reading, students can constantly train pronunciation skills to develop good habits. At the same time, students can learn the grammar of English expressions. Additionally, reading aloud is a good way to break the shame of the students, effectively enhancing the confidence of students, so that students gain the courage to use English in public and express themselves.
Free and accessible communication is the ultimate goal of spoken English learning, which tests not only English expression ability but also listening ability of students. For this purpose, the training institution push students to chat with teachers and native English speakers which encourage them to strengthen their English language organization and strengthen their English thinking mode subconsciously.
As the saying goes, interest is the best teacher. Training institutions select the most popular topics, including news, entertainment and so on, its close to our daily life, making it easier for students to accept, it also broaden the students field of vision.
However, there are some disadvantages of training in training institute. First, the training cycle is too short. It is unrealistic to pin this hope on the short weeks of training in the training course. Also, Its high fees also limit its appeal.
Compared with the spoken English training of training institutions, the schools spoken English training institute serves almost all students. However, the school spends very little on spoken English teaching. The teaching of spoken English in school mainly includes two aspects, one is based on phonetic phonetic spelling of words, the other is based on audio or video material of textbook recitation. The phonetic spelling helps students to lay down a solid basic skills, but it lacks in the training of flexible application. While the latter is based on spoken training audio or video information, which cannot create and restore realistic scene of communication. Another serious problem that spoken English level of teachers in school is also not ideal, which leads to the lack of correct guidance for students and makes spoken English teaching difficult to meet the requirements.
2. Conclusion
To sum up, English training institutions have great advantages in spoken training compared with school teaching. So in the later development process, the school can draw lessons from some training methods of training institutions, I think it can draw lessons with the following: (1)Improve teacherslevel of spoken English, (2)Change the spoken English course teaching content, make it more life fun, (3) strengthen the situational communication training, to really improve students spoken English level.
