In the early summer morning, the Nanbin Road is misty. At 9:45 a.m.,the acrobats of Chongqing International Circus City begin a day of training as usual.
18-years-old Xie Hao has already been the “senior” of the acrobatic troupe. He has begun to learn acrobatics at the age of 5 and spent his early years on it. “Acrobatics is a young person's profession.”The average age of the boys and girls in circus city is only 16.
Recalling his first solo performance 10 years ago, Xie Hao cannot help shedding tears. “At that moment, all the pain and hard training were worth it.”It was the first time that he had found a real love for acrobatics.
“Pay attention to your knees and feet. Hold on!” In the large performance hall, the captain Wu Long meticulously instructs Xie Hao on the cross movement of the “aerialist”. Roll up and down, keep level and tie the rope around waist...When the movements are finished, his face is dripping with sweat.
“Aerialist” is the most difficult item in acrobatic upper body strength training, but it is Xie Hao's favorite. During the break, he beckons to me politely and hobbles over to me, not as light as that just in the air. “For acrobats, injuries are unavoidable.” He gladly points to his feet as he speaks .
Ten years of youth is waiting to shine.
On the other side of the hall, Wang Jiawei, a young girl from Shenyang, is cooperating with her partner harmoniously on the ballet on shoulders.Standing on head, lifting and doing the splits, she is full of confidence with natural and standard movement.
Wang Jiawei is young and has been learning acrobatics for some years. In addition to ballet on shoulders, she has also learned silk skills, jugging with the feet and modern dance. Her smile is always very sweet in spite of the difficulties. “Acrobatics is not only a job, but also my youth.” I will stick to this path and keep going all the time.
Now, the team is preparing for the acrobatic drama “Dayu” which will release in October. She confidently and excitedly tells us, “I believe that it will impress the audience and bring down the house.”
