China Textile: The theme of this exhibition is “Textile for Smarter Future”. How do you regard it? As to the Chinese textile industry, what opportunities do the “Cross-border · Smarter” possess?

Wang Jun: The textile industry in China is in the key stage of transformation and upgrading, transforming from strong to powerful. It is of great significance to put forward the smarter textile. “Smarter”can be regarded to represent the intelligent textile and factory. “Future”means to apply new materials and technologies in the textile for development, thus embodying the new status of the textile industry.

As to the textile industry in China, I think “Cross-border · Smarter” has the following opportunities:

·The intelligent manufacturing as well as the great development and application of the robot have brought opportunities to the development of the textile industry, so as to transform from the labor intensive type into technique intensive type.

·The new materials and new technologies have brought development opportunities to the textile industry. The diversified fibrous raw material as well as the concept and application of green manufacturing have provided better support to the product enrichment and further cleaning of the products in the textile industry.

·The popularization and application of the internet enable the manufacturing and marketing models of the textile to have great changes. The textile product will transform from the cost price competition into obtaining high additional values in high quality and service.

China Textile: How do you consider the present intelligent promotion process of the industry? What do you think of its prospect?

Wang Jun: Objectively, the present automation level and intelligence level of the textile industry are irregular. In my opinion, the intelligence situation of the textile industry is quite complicated. Some enterprises have poor automation level; some enterprises basically complete the manufacturing automation; some enterprises try a partial of intelligence. Generally, I believe that the textile industry can basi- cally realize automation and serialization in not far future. However, the overall realization of the intelligence is still a long way.

The present understanding and comprehension to smart textile is still in the initial stage. What is indeed the smart textile? Its definition and connotation have to be further discussed before reaching an agreement. As to the textile intelligence, I think there are two key problems: the first is that the textile material is a flexible fiber. The coupling of the fiber with the rigid body and fluid body as well as the function mechanism between fibers are still not distinct; the second is how to process the mass data generated by textile automation and how to get useful information. The prospect of textile intelligence is definitely beautiful. However, as a matter of fact, it also requires a rather long process.

China Textile: What is your expectation to the exhibition? What harvests do you have in the previous exhibitions?

Wang Jun: I am looking forward to the intelligent manufacturing, green producing specific areas as well as the relevant forums of this exhibition.

The main harvests of the previous exhibitions are: people can comprehend the textile machinery, understand the development and improvement of the textile machinery and textile technology in a relatively not big space in a few short days. People can compare the characteristics of the similar products, listen to the special reports of the experts, and can still talk freely of the technical development with the people in the same industry. In a word, every exhibition is a platform of studying, communicating and discussing. People will have new harvest and feeling every time.endprint
