Thanksgiving is a big day in the US. Its on the fourth Thursday in November. This year it falls on November 23. People usually spend the day with family.

People like to watch American football（橄榄球） on TV，or play football in a park.

Every family has a big dinner in the afternoon. Turkey is the main dish（主菜）. So Thanksgiving can be called Turkey Day. There are many side dishes（配菜） like potatoes，pumpkins and corn. People usually cook for a few days before Thanksgiving.

Of course，the most important part of Thanksgiving is giving thanks（致謝）. People say something they are thankful for（感谢）—— food，friend，family ... Its time to remember（记住） all of the good things in your life.
