南航与美国航空达成战略合作
CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES AND AMERICAN AIRLINES REACH A STRATEGIC COOPERATION
On 28th March, China Southern Airlines, Asia's largest carrier and American Airlines, the world's largest airline officially signed a Framework Agreement, a Share Subscription Agreement and a series of business cooperation agreements in Guangzhou. Based on the agreements, American Airlines will invest US $ 200 million to China Southern Airlines to subscribe for H shares to be issued by China Southern Airlines. Both sides will gradually build up a long-term and comprehensive strategic partnership, and extend their flight networks to more cities both in China and the US.
After the issuance is completed, the H shares American Airlines will acquire are expected to account for approximately 8.8% of China Southern's H-shares listed in Hong Kong and 2.7% of the total share capital. The board of directors of China Southern will appoint a person from American Airlines as an observer to the board.
In the future, China Southern Airlines and American Airlines will work together to achieve mutual support in Chinese and American markets by utilising each other's flight networks in a deeper sense and continuously optimising passengers' experience. As the result of the partnership between the two carriers, more code-share flights will be introduced, the flight networks will be extended and passengers will enjoy more travel options.
